PROTON Previews All-New Saga: Malaysia’s Engineering Pride Reborn

Due to several public appearances recently, PROTON has pulled the wraps off the All-New Saga, sending out official images of the car which is going to see an official launch soon.

Right before this, PROTON had organized an exclusive media preview, and all images from that is still under embargo.

This is no ordinary model refresh. The All-New Saga is the first car in PROTON’s history to be fully designed, engineered, and validated by Malaysian talent, backed by technical collaboration from Geely. The achievement underscores the automaker’s growing engineering independence and its evolution from a national carmaker to a global automotive innovator.

Built on PROTON’s Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA)

The All-New Saga is built on PROTON’s Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA) — a flexible, scalable platform designed to meet global safety, performance, and emissions standards. It also introduces a new electronic architecture that supports next-generation intelligent systems, paving the way for future connectivity and autonomous driving technologies.

Importantly, PROTON holds full ownership of the AMA platform’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), opening opportunities for future collaborations within the Geely Group ecosystem and positioning Malaysia as a potential regional engineering hub.

“Intelligence That Thrills”

Carrying the tagline “Intelligence That Thrills,” the All-New Saga features 35 all-new elements that elevate the A-segment sedan game in safety, intelligence, and refinement.

“The All-New Saga represents much more than the next chapter in our sedan legacy,” said Zhang Qiang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, PROTON Edar. “It embodies the culmination of years of development by Malaysian engineers and designers, backed by global collaboration. This milestone signifies PROTON’s transition from a national carmaker to a global automotive innovator — proudly powered by local talent.”
