Wing Hin Motorsports Charges Into Japan With Double Assault: 2026 Super Taikyu & GR86/BRZ Cup Campaigns

Malaysian motorsports outfit Wing Hin Motorsports is raising the bar for Asian racing talent with a bold expansion into Japan’s most demanding endurance and one-make series. The team confirmed today it will contest its first full season in the prestigious 2026 ENEOS Super Taikyu Series while simultaneously defending its crown in the Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Cup.
The charge begins this weekend (21-22 March) at Mobility Resort Motegi, where Wing Hin Motorsports will debut its Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 in Round 1 of the Super Taikyu Series. The car will be piloted by Malaysian duo Naquib Azlan and Amer Harris, alongside seasoned Japanese campaigner Shuji Maeshima.

This strategic leap follows the team’s breakout 2025 season, where Naquib clinched the overall title in the Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Cup Clubman Series, Amer secured 4th place, and the squad earned a respectable 4th-in-Class finish at the ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hours.
“The move into Super Taikyu is largely motivated by the team’s success in the 2025 Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Cup Clubman Series in which Naquib won the overall title in our first full season competing and Amer finishing 4th, as well as securing 4th in Class with Mitchell Cheah in the 4-Hour ADAC Nurburgring Langstrecken Series in 2025. Competing in Japan underlines a long-term objective to inspire, support and provide talented young drivers from across Asia with a sustainable platform to move up the motorsports ladder. We are in this to create new opportunities for these young talented drivers,” said Wing Hin Motorsports Team Principal William Loh.
Japan’s Premier Pro-Am Endurance Challenge
Established in 1991, the ENEOS Super Taikyu Series is Japan’s flagship pro-am endurance championship, featuring production-based touring cars pushed to their limits across races ranging from 3 to 24 hours.
The 2026 calendar spans seven grueling rounds across Japan’s iconic circuits:
- Round 1: 21-22 March | Mobility Resort Motegi | 2x 4-Hour Races (This Weekend!)
- Round 2: 18-19 April | Suzuka Circuit | 5-Hour Race
- Round 3: 5-7 June | Fuji Speedway | 24-Hour Race 🏁
- Round 4: 4-5 July | Sportsland Sugo | 2x 4-Hour Races
- Round 5: 25-26 July | Autopolis International Racing Course | 5-Hour Race

Guiding Wing Hin’s Japanese campaign is advisor Masahiro Sasaki—a Toyota GAZOO Racing and Lexus development driver with extensive experience in Super Taikyu, Super GT (GT300), and the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Sasaki previously mentored Naquib and Amer during their successful 2025 GR86/BRZ Cup debut in Japan.

Defending Champions Return: GR86/BRZ Cup Campaign
Riding high on last year’s triumph, Malaysian touring car ace Mitchell Cheah will lead Wing Hin Motorsports’ title defense in the 2026 Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Cup.
Cheah’s résumé with the team includes:
- 🏆 GT4 Class Championship, TSS The Super Series (Thailand, 2025)
- 🏁 ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hours campaign (2025)
- 🥈 2nd Place, D4 Class – Idemitsu Super Endurance SEA Trophy (2024)
- 🥉 3rd Place, D3 Class – Idemitsu Super Endurance SEA Trophy (2025)
The 2026 GR86/BRZ Cup season kicks off 5 April at Autopolis Circuit and concludes 21-22 November at Mobility Resort Motegi, with stops at Sportsland Sugo, Okayama, Tokachi, Fuji, and Suzuka along the way.
Empowering the Next Generation: Customer Racing Program
In a move to accelerate talent development across Asia, Wing Hin Motorsports will expand its Customer Racing Program in 2026. The initiative will support young Indonesian driver Jordan Johan, who will represent Toyota GAZOO Racing Indonesia in a second GR86 entry.
Under the program, Wing Hin provides the race car, technical crew, and full race support—lowering barriers for emerging drivers and teams.
“The Customer Racing Program is in place to support our commitment to help talented young drivers in Asia move up the motorsports ladder in a more structured and sustainable manner. Motorsports require significant investments but with this Program, we hope to provide individuals, companies and teams an accelerated but sound entry. The Customer Racing Program also strategically positions Wing Hin Motorsports to elevate our experience, technical prowess and professionalism in motorsports,” said Loh.
Going Green on the Track: Moty’s RRBO Engine Oil Debut
In a first for the team, Wing Hin Motorsports will power all its 2026 race vehicles with a new Moty’s engine oil formulated using RRBO (Re-Refined Base Oil)—an eco-friendly lubricant produced by re-refining used engine oil.
The technology is supplied by Pentas Flora, Malaysia’s largest re-refinery and a proud sponsor of the team. By testing RRBO in Japan’s brutal motorsport environment, Wing Hin aims to prove that high-performance racing and environmental responsibility can go hand-in-hand.
