Haval H6 Owner Requests Another H6 After Cameron Highlands Accident

The Cameron Highlands accident involving a Haval H6 that plunged approximately 60 metres into a ravine may no longer be new — but what happened after the crash is what’s drawing attention.

He asked for another H6.

Courtesy Upgrade Offered — And Declined

All five occupants survived the February 23 incident near the Boh Tea Centre, with two sustaining injuries. Online discussions at the time focused heavily on the SUV’s structural integrity after tumbling down the hillside.

Following the accident, the vehicle was towed to GWM Jalan Ipoh for insurance processing. At the showroom, the owner was reportedly offered a courtesy replacement vehicle — a Tank 500, positioned above the H6 in GWM’s local lineup and retailing at over RM300,000.

He declined the offer.

Instead, he requested another Haval H6.

Confidence Built the Hard Way

According to reports circulating online, his reasoning was straightforward: the vehicle had already protected his family in a worst-case scenario.

For context, 60 metres is roughly the height of a 15-storey building.

While controlled crash tests remain the industry benchmark for safety validation, real-world incidents inevitably shape perception. The H6 carries a 5-star safety rating from ANCAP, but in this case, the reassurance came from lived experience rather than a lab environment.

More Than Just Specifications

The H6 competes in Malaysia’s crowded C-segment SUV market, where feature lists and pricing often dominate buying decisions.

This incident shifts the conversation to something less tangible — trust.

CarTok Editor’s Note

It’s easy to accept something bigger and more premium when it’s offered.

Asking for the exact same car again suggests one thing: it did its job.

In this instance, the strongest endorsement didn’t come from a brochure — it came after a 60-metre drop.

And that says more than any spec sheet ever could.
