iCAUR V23 EV Off-Roader Scores 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Rating

The Chery group has certainly been busy establishing its priority on safety. Besides the Chery TIGGO 7 PHEV, the iCAUR V23 has also achieved a full 5-Star rating under the ASEAN New Car Assessment Programme (ASEAN NCAP). It recorded an overall score of 91.02 points and is the first fully electric off-road SUV to be tested under the current 2021–2025 assessment protocol.

Strong Performance Across Safety Categories
Under the 2021–2025 ASEAN NCAP protocol, the iCAUR V23 scored:
- Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): 39.71 points
- Child Occupant Protection (COP): 16.67 points
- Safety Assist Technologies (SATs): 17.14 points
- Motorcyclist Safety (MS): 17.50 points
This robust performance places the iCAUR V23 among the top-performing vehicles evaluated under the current standards.

Safety-Focused EV Design
The iCAUR V23 combines rugged off-road capability with advanced safety features. Its cage-like frame is made from 70% high-strength steel, providing a strong structural foundation. A Battery Management System (BMS) delivers high-voltage protection and precise liquid-cooled temperature management, ensuring battery safety even in collisions.
The SUV comes standard with six airbags and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) on both 2WD and iWD variants. A millimetre-wave radar also enhances detection accuracy across various driving conditions.
