Isuzu Delivers 10 ELF NPR PRO Trucks to Servay Evergreen in East Malaysia

Servay Evergreen Sdn Bhd has taken delivery of 10 units of ISUZU ELF NPR PRO 85UKL Euro 4 (NPR85UKL) from Isuzu dealer, WMM Ventures Sdn Bhd, to strengthen its logistics capabilities across Sabah.

Servay Evergreen, a homegrown retail brand based in Kota Kinabalu, operates more than 80 hypermarket and supermarket outlets across Sabah and Sarawak. Established over 35 years ago with its first supermarket in Miri, the company has since diversified into transportation, hotels and property development.

Supporting Growing Operations

Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Tomoyuki Yamaguchi said, “ISUZU is honored to further support Servay Evergreen’s transportation needs with the NPR85UKL model from our top-selling ELF range. The truck raises the bar in fuel management with its powerful engine and a host of other practical upgrades that our customers can fully leverage for their business efficiency and adaptability.”

According to Micheal Lai, Manager of Servay Evergreen Sdn Bhd, the new trucks will be deployed to transport goods to Servay and Servay Express outlets throughout Sabah.

“We are glad to have received the new trucks which will be used for transporting goods to our Servay and Servay Express outlets throughout Sabah. Our company has been using other ISUZU NPR models as well as the medium-duty Forward model for several years now and the vehicles are all still performing very satisfactorily. We trust the brand for its reliability, in addition to the competitive price and after sales service package that ISUZU offers,” he said.

Fuel Efficiency and Lower Operating Costs

Lai added, “We are confident the NPR85UKL will help our business gain a competitive edge, thanks to its great fuel efficiency, cleaner emission and lower maintenance costs in the long run. After testing the vehicle, we are very satisfied with its sufficient power with full permissible loads. The quality and reliability of the truck with expected minimum downtime will also eliminate disruption in our delivery schedule and ensure the smooth running of our transportation operations. We have plans to purchase more units of this model as well as ISUZU’s medium-duty trucks as we anticipate future growth.”

Timothy Chin, Sales Manager of WMM Ventures Sdn Bhd, shared that the model can reduce fuel consumption and fuel costs by an average of 20%, depending on load capacity, driving habits and maintenance practices. He also highlighted the truck’s safety features and overall suitability for commercial fleet operations.

Key Specifications and Features

The NPR85UKL is powered by a compact Euro 4-compliant engine producing a maximum torque of 354 Nm at 1,500 rpm. Its Diesel Oxidation Catalyst system reduces Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrocarbons (HC) and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions, supporting cleaner and more cost-efficient operations.

Safety enhancements include:

  • SRS Airbag with pretensioner seatbelts
  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD)
  • Long-life LED headlights for improved night visibility

The truck also offers a spacious body with increased load capacity, enabling businesses to transport more goods in fewer trips — a practical advantage for large-scale retail distribution.

CarTok Editor’s Note:

Retail logistics is where reputations are quietly built or broken. Customers may never see these trucks, but they feel the impact when shelves are stocked on time and operations run without hiccups. For large-scale retailers in Sabah and Sarawak, fuel efficiency, uptime and predictable maintenance costs translate directly into tighter margins and stronger competitiveness. In that context, fleet decisions like this aren’t routine purchases — they’re long-term business strategies on wheels.
