Resorts World Genting Adds DENZA D9 EVs To Premium Guest Shuttle Fleet

Resorts World Genting (RWG) has included a fleet of DENZA D9 Premium as part of its internal guest transportation service, making it among the first hospitality operators in Malaysia to integrate luxury electric MPVs into resort shuttle operations.

The DENZA D9 Premium vehicles will primarily shuttle guests between Genting Grand and Crockfords, replacing conventional people movers as a quieter and more premium all-electric alternative.

RWG says the move forms part of its wider sustainability efforts aimed at reducing carbon emissions while improving the overall guest experience within the integrated resort.

“The introduction of the DENZA D9 EV shuttle service marks an important milestone in RWG’s sustainability journey. As we continue exploring greener initiatives across our operations, we also want to elevate the guest experience by providing transportation that is not only efficient and luxurious, but also environmentally responsible,” said Spencer Lee, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Public Relations of RWG.

The DENZA D9 Premium is positioned as a luxury electric MPV and comes with BYD’s Blade Battery technology, three-row seating configuration and Nappa leather upholstery.

For a hospitality environment like Genting Highlands, refinement matters just as much as emissions reduction. EVs naturally suit resort shuttle duties thanks to their quiet operation, smooth low-speed drivability and premium cabin ambience, particularly for VIP guest transportation.

Bea Kwang Tat, Head of Retail at Denza Sime Motors, said the collaboration also reflects growing interest in premium EV adoption beyond private ownership. “We are honoured that RWG has chosen the DENZA D9 for its shuttle service. Designed to deliver refined comfort and sophistication, we believe the D9 will elevate the overall guest experience in line with the resort’s positioning.”

RWG also stated that it is the first integrated resort in the industry to deploy the DENZA D9 Premium for transport operations. This move highlights how luxury EVs are expanding into commercial hospitality applications where passenger comfort, lower operating noise and environmental positioning have become part of the overall brand experience.

Luxury EV adoption is quietly extending beyond private ownership into hotels, airports and premium shuttle services. At Resorts World Genting, that shift is visible in everyday operations. For guests, the difference is subtle but immediate — quieter cabins, smoother acceleration and less vibration on short transfers. For hospitality operators, EVs are no longer just about emissions reduction; they are part of how the brand experience is delivered. In a venue like Genting, where the journey is inseparable from the product, a shuttle ride can become part of the brand story.
