TQ WULING Porta EV Launched In Malaysia From RM99,800, Offers Up To 400km Range

TQ WULING has launched the all-new Porta EV in Malaysia, expanding its electric vehicle line-up into the commercial van segment with two variants offering up to 400km (CLTC-rated) range and a maximum payload of 1,105kg.
The fully electric panel van is priced at RM105,800 for the 400km variant and an estimated RM99,800 for the 300km variant in Peninsular Malaysia. In East Malaysia, the prices are RM108,800 and an estimated RM102,800, respectively (on-the-road for company commercial registration, excluding insurance).

Developed for logistics operators, retailers, fleet owners and small and medium-sized businesses, the Porta EV is positioned as an alternative to conventional diesel vans, with lower scheduled maintenance costs and the potential to reduce fleet operating expenses.
Bookings are now open through the official TQ WULING website at tqwuling.my or at TQ WULING showrooms. Booking fee is a nominal RM500.
Practical Cargo Capacity
The Porta EV measures 5,010mm long, 1,800mm wide and 1,975mm tall for the 400km variant. The 300km version is slightly lower at 1,960mm. Both share a 3,050mm wheelbase.
Its cargo compartment measures 2,830mm long, 1,680mm wide and 1,365mm high, providing up to 6.5 cubic metres of cargo space.
The 400km variant supports a maximum payload of 1,105kg. Loading and unloading are facilitated by dual sliding side doors with a 777mm opening width, rear barn doors that open up to 270 degrees and a loading height of 595mm.
The rear opening measures 1,366mm wide, allowing access for forklifts and accommodating standard 1,100mm by 1,100mm pallets. The van also uses a monocoque body incorporating 83% ultra-high-strength steel.

75kW Electric Motor And Fast Charging
Power comes from a 75kW silicon-carbide electric motor producing 180Nm of torque, supplied by WULING’s MAGIC EV Battery technology.
The battery system has undergone safety tests involving high temperatures, punctures, impacts, vibration and water immersion. Its structural design is claimed to increase battery strength by more than 60%, while its modular construction allows individual battery cells to be serviced or replaced when required.

According to TQ WULING, this approach can reduce battery repair and maintenance costs by up to 90% over the vehicle’s lifecycle.
The Porta EV supports both AC and DC charging, with charging times varying by battery variant.
The 400km version claims a 20-minute charge from 30% to 80% using DC fast charging, while the 300km version requires 30 minutes. Using AC charging, the respective times to charge from 20% to 80% are 6.75 hours and 5.15 hours.
Take note that TQ WULING has provided CLTC-rated ranges, which are measured under a standardised test cycle and may differ from the distance achieved in actual commercial operations.
Safety Equipment And Driver Comfort
Standard safety equipment includes dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control and hill start assist.
The van also comes with a low-speed pedestrian warning alarm, reverse camera, reverse sensors and an immobiliser.
Inside, the driver gets a 3.5-inch TFT instrument display, four-way adjustable seats, electronically adjustable air conditioning and an 8-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth, MP3 and USB connectivity.

Lower Scheduled Maintenance Costs
The Porta EV requires scheduled servicing every six months or 10,000km (whichever comes first), with total scheduled maintenance costs calculated at less than RM2,000 over five years.
The company estimates this represents savings of more than 65% compared with conventional diesel vans.
For businesses operating multiple vehicles, lower routine servicing expenses would help reduce fleet maintenance expenditure. However, the overall financial benefit will depend on factors such as annual mileage, electricity tariffs, charging arrangements, vehicle utilisation and the cost of replacing or maintaining individual components over time.
Warranty coverage is five years or 120,000km for the vehicle, five years or 200,000km for the drive motor, EV battery and battery management system (BMS), and six years or 300,000km for the battery cells, whichever comes first.
Aftersales support is provided by Tan Chong Ekspress Auto Servis (TCEAS), which has 28 service centres nationwide trained to service TQ WULING vehicles.

Early-Bird Package Includes Wallbox Charger
Customers who book during the promotional period will receive an early bird package comprising a 7kW EV wallbox charger worth RM3,500, a three-pin portable EV charger and scheduled maintenance covering up to 60,000km or three years.
The Porta EV will be displayed at selected TQ WULING showrooms nationwide on 17 and 18 October 2026. Check tqwuling.my for participating locations.
CarTok Editor’s Note
With prices starting at an estimated RM99,800, the Porta EV brings electric power to Malaysia’s commercial van market. The 400km variant costs RM6,000 more than the 300km version for an additional 100km of CLTC-rated range. For businesses covering longer daily distances, this premium could pay for itself over the van’s working life if it reduces charging downtime and allows more deliveries per shift.
The 6.5 cubic metres of cargo space, payload of up to 1,105kg and relatively low scheduled maintenance costs make the Porta EV worth considering, particularly for urban delivery operations with predictable routes and access to depot charging.
However, CLTC range is not a guarantee of real-world distance under full load, heavy air-conditioning use and stop-start traffic. Fleet operators must also weigh charging downtime, electricity costs and service support against the potential savings.
Ultimately, the business case depends on how much the van can earn while keeping operating costs in check.
