Proton e.MAS Records 17,604 Electrified Vehicle Registrations In H1 2026, e.MAS 7 PHEV Surpasses 11,000 Bookings

PRO-NET says the Proton e.MAS brand continued its strong momentum in the first half of 2026, recording 17,604 year-to-date (YTD) registrations across its electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) lineup as of June 2026.
The company registered 3,026 vehicles in June across all Proton e.MAS models, with the newly launched Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV emerging as its strongest performer.
Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Exceeds 11,000 Bookings
The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV recorded 1,138 registrations in June, bringing its YTD registrations to 4,074 units.
Since its launch in February 2026, the model has accumulated more than 11,000 bookings, making it PRO-NET’s best-performing electrified model and, according to the company, Malaysia’s best-selling PHEV.
“The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has exceeded our expectations and demonstrates that Malaysians are embracing practical electrification solutions that fit their daily lifestyles. Surpassing 11,000 bookings within just a few months of its launch, together with more than 4,000 registrations year-to-date, reflects the growing confidence in the Proton e.MAS brand and our commitment to offering innovative mobility solutions for every stage of the electrification journey,” said PRO-NET Chief Executive Officer Zhang Qiang.

Proton e.MAS 5 Remains Best Monthly Contributor
The Proton e.MAS 5 continued to be the brand’s highest-volume model in June, registering 1,309 units during the month.
Its performance contributed significantly to the brand’s overall monthly total of 3,026 registrations, reinforcing continued demand for Proton’s electrified vehicle range.
Proton e.MAS 7 EV Sees Steady Growth
The larger fully electric Proton e.MAS 7 registered 579 units in June, increasing its YTD registrations to 2,864 units.
Since its market introduction in December 2025, PRO-NET says there are now more than 11,542 Proton e.MAS 7 SUVs on Malaysian roads.
Premium Plus Expands e.MAS 7 Ranges
During KLIMS 2026, PRO-NET introduced the Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus, adding a higher-specification variant to the electric SUV lineup.
New features include:
- Dual front massage seats
- Powered front passenger seat with memory function
- Integrated passenger leg rest
- Larger battery capacity
- DC fast charging capability of up to 115kW
Despite the larger battery, the Premium Plus maintains a 30% to 80% DC fast charging time of approximately 20 minutes, while offering a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 450km.

Pricing And Launch Rebate
PRO-NET is currently offering a limited-time RM7,000 Special Launch Rebate across the Proton e.MAS 7 range.
With the promotion, on-the-road prices without insurance are:
| Variant | Promotional Price |
|---|---|
| Proton e.MAS 7 Prime | RM96,800 |
| Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus | RM118,800 |
The company also highlighted the value proposition of the e.MAS 7 PHEV Prime, which starts from RM105,800. PRO-NET says the model combines A-segment-like running costs, B-segment pricing and interior space comparable to larger D-segment SUVs, targeting buyers seeking a practical electrified family vehicle.
CarTok Editor’s Note:
While the e.MAS 7 EV established the brand, the introduction of the e.MAS 7 PHEV has broadened its appeal to buyers who want lower fuel consumption without relying entirely on public charging infrastructure. Having both EV and PHEV options allows PROTON to address different customer needs while building volume.
The challenge now will be sustaining this momentum as more brands introduce increasingly competitive electrified SUVs into the Malaysian market.
