According to Motul, the partnership strengthens its regional motorsport strategy while expanding its technical collaboration with Boon Siew Honda across two of Southeast Asia’s premier motorcycle racing championships.

Partnership Focuses On Technical Development

As part of the agreement, Motul will supply its flagship 300V high-performance racing lubricant to both teams throughout the season.

The company said the partnership is designed to provide a real-world testing environment for lubricant development under competitive racing conditions while supporting the teams’ performance objectives on track.

Boon Siew Honda will contribute its race motorcycles, riders and regional racing programme, with both companies aiming to strengthen their presence within the Asia-Pacific motorsport community.

Shared Motorsport Ambitions

Carlo Savoca, Chief Marketing Officer of Motul Asia Pacific, said the racetrack remains the company’s ultimate testing ground for lubricant technology.

“Powering both the Motul Honda Asia Team in ARRC AP250 and Motul Honda Racing Malaysia in MSBK 250 with our flagship 300V technology allows us to push the boundaries of lubricant innovation under extreme conditions, directly translating track-tested reliability and precision into performance for our consumers across the region.”

CarTok Editor’s Note:

Manufacturer-lubricant partnerships are common in motorsport, and they serve a purpose beyond branding. Racing places engines and transmissions under sustained high temperatures and mechanical stress that are difficult to replicate in laboratory testing. For lubricant companies, championship competition provides valuable real-world data that can influence future product development, while manufacturers benefit from technical support aimed at maximising reliability and consistency. Although the marketing value is significant, these collaborations also reflect how motorsport continues to function as a proving ground for technologies that may eventually find their way into motorcycles ridden on public roads.
