Sixty-five Honda motorcycle owners rode to Pantai Kuala Muda on Saturday, but this was a convoy with a purpose beyond simply enjoying a morning ride.
Instead of riding for speed, the group arrived at the Penang coastline equipped with gloves and trash bags, joining a beach cleanup as part of Boon Siew Honda’s Ride to Reach corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
The initiative, built around the motto “We Care. We Serve. We Reach.”, brought Honda motorcycle owners and volunteers together to care for the environment while connecting with the local community.
The convoy began with a flag-off at Boon Siew Honda’s headquarters in Batu Kawan before the riders made their way to Pantai Kuala Muda.
Once there, the 65 Honda motorcycle owners and volunteers put their riding gear aside and worked together to collect and segregate waste along the beach.
A Beach Cleanup With A Local Purpose
The choice of Pantai Kuala Muda was deliberate.
The coastal area is closely connected to the local fishing community and hawkers, making the condition of the beach particularly important to people who live and work there.
By cleaning the coastline, the Honda group was able to contribute directly to a community that relies on the area while promoting greater awareness of keeping Malaysia’s coastal environments clean.
The convoy also became an opportunity for the Honda motorcycle owners to interact with local fishermen and families.
The sight and sound of 65 Honda motorcycles naturally brought attention to the group, but the morning quickly became more about people than motorcycles, with conversations, smiles and shared moments between the volunteers and local community.
It reflected a broader idea behind the programme — that mobility is not only about getting from one destination to another, but also about bringing people together.
Ride To Reach Continues Its Community Journey
Launched in May 2025, Ride to Reach has taken Boon Siew Honda into communities through a range of activities.
These have included road safety education at schools, flood relief efforts and motorcycle servicing activities in Perak.
The Pantai Kuala Muda beach cleanup extends that work into environmental conservation, reinforcing the company’s belief that caring for communities also means caring for the environments in which they live and work.
Mr Rosidan bin Haron, Chief Administrative Officer of Boon Siew Honda and Chairman of Ride to Reach, said the programme reflects the company’s philosophy of respecting people, serving communities and creating joy.

The event concluded with a group photograph followed by a meal shared between the volunteers and members of the local community.
For the 65 Honda motorcycle owners, the ride to Pantai Kuala Muda therefore had a different kind of finish line.
There was no race to win and no lap time to beat. The measure of the journey was simply what the group could contribute when they reached their destination.
