eRacing GP To Host 12 Hours of Spa Endurance Race This Saturday

eRacing GP is set to stage one of its biggest endurance events yet with the inaugural 12 Hours of Spa, bringing together more than 30 sim racing teams from at least five countries for a 12-hour battle at the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on 18 July.
The special event will see competitors tackle one of motorsport’s most demanding circuits, combining outright speed with endurance, race strategy, consistency and seamless driver changes over 12 continuous hours of racing.

More Than 30 Teams Across Three Classes
The race will feature three competition categories comprising Hypercars (GTP), LMP2 and GT3, creating multi-class racing similar to the FIA World Endurance Championship.
In the Hypercars (GTP) category, teams can choose from:
- BMW M Hybrid V8
- Cadillac V-Series.R GTP
- Ferrari 499P
- Porsche 963 GTP
The LMP2 class will exclusively use the Dallara P217.
Meanwhile, the GT3 category offers six cars:
- BMW M4 GT3 EVO
- Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R
- Ferrari 296 GT3
- McLaren 720S GT3 EVO
- Mercedes-AMG GT3 (2020)
- Porsche 911 GT3 R (992)
The multi-class format is expected to create constant traffic management challenges throughout the race, particularly around Spa’s famous corners including Eau Rouge, Raidillon and Blanchimont.
Regional Talent On The Grid
Several established sim racers from around Southeast Asia are expected to headline the event.
Among the favourites is Singapore’s Aleef Hamilton, who will partner Malaysia’s Alister Yoong. They will face strong competition from defending Endurance Edition champions Apex Racing Brunei.
Thailand’s OVERME.team will be led by prominent sim racer Thanprasit Sartsuk, while Malaysia’s Pepega Racing will field three entries.
Pepega Racing’s line-up includes former Toyota GAZOO Racing Rookie drivers Justin Rahul Dev and Genevieve Ooi, with Ooi set to be the only female competitor on the starting grid.

Royal Selangor Supports Event
The event is supported by Royal Selangor, with winners receiving specially commissioned trophies produced by the renowned Malaysian pewter manufacturer.
Hilda Razali, Head of Global Marketing at Royal Selangor International, said the partnership reflects the shared values between traditional craftsmanship and modern motorsport, where precision, dedication and attention to detail are essential to success.

Alex Yoong: Endurance Racing Is The Ultimate Test
According to Alex Yoong, Founder of eRacing GP, endurance racing places equal emphasis on teamwork and preparation as it does outright pace.
“Endurance racing represents the ultimate challenge in motorsport. Events like these are designed to reward not only outright pace, but also teamwork, preparation and resilience. It is an event that captures the essence of endurance competition while giving sim racers the opportunity to compete with some of the best in Asia.”
The 12 Hours of Spa begins at 11:00am on Saturday, 18 July, and will be streamed live through eRacing GP’s social media channels (https://www.facebook.com/share/1bqcCQzn1e OR https://www.youtube.com/@eracinggp).
Founded as an FIA-recognised international sim racing championship, eRacing GP aims to provide a professional platform for virtual motorsport while strengthening links between sim racing and the wider motorsport community.
CarTok Editor’s Note
Sim racing has evolved well beyond casual gaming, with endurance events such as the 12 Hours of Spa demanding the same qualities found in real-world motorsport: consistency, teamwork, racecraft and strategic decision-making. The growing participation from teams across Southeast Asia also reflects how virtual racing is becoming an increasingly competitive pathway for aspiring drivers and esports athletes alike.
