DENZA B8 Launched In Malaysia From RM458,800, Brings 450kW DMO Super Hybrid System And DiSus-P Suspension

DENZA Malaysia has officially launched the new DENZA B8, marking the brand’s first DMO Super Hybrid model introduction in Malaysia.

Priced from RM458,800, the new large SUV is offered in two variants — the B8 Dynamic 7-seater at RM458,800 and the B8 Premium 6-seater at RM518,800 (both excluding insurance and registration fees).

The launch expands DENZA’s local line-up beyond pure EVs and adds a new option for buyers looking for a high-riding, three-row SUV with electrified performance, long-distance range and off-road-focused hardware.

According to Jacob Ma, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, the B8 is an important milestone for DENZA in Malaysia as the brand broadens its new energy vehicle offerings.

DMO Super Hybrid System

At the centre of the B8 is DENZA’s DMO Super Hybrid Platform, which combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, dual electric motors and BYD Blade Battery technology. The setup delivers a combined output of 450kW and 760Nm, with power sent to all four wheels through an intelligent 4WD system.

DENZA says the B8 can operate in Pure EV, HEV Series and Parallel Hybrid modes depending on driving conditions.

A 36.8kWh Blade Battery provides up to 115km of pure electric range on the NEDC cycle. With its 91-litre fuel tank, DENZA claims a total range of up to 1,040km on the same cycle.

Charging support includes up to 120kW DC fast charging, with 30% to 80% charging claimed in 16 minutes, as well as up to 11kW AC charging. A 6.6kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function is also included.

DiSus-P Suspension Adds Ride Height Adjustment And Off-road Control

One of the key technologies on the B8 is the DiSus-P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System, which is designed to improve comfort, stability and body control across different road conditions.

The system offers up to 140mm of ride height adjustment, while the SUV also claims a maximum water wading depth of up to 890mm.

Approach and departure angles are listed at 34 degrees and 35 degrees respectively, with the B8 riding on 275/55R20 tyres.

Six-seat And Seven-seat Layouts

The DENZA B8 is available in two cabin layouts.

The Premium variant uses a six-seat configuration with second-row captain seats, ottomans, ventilation and massage functions.

The Dynamic variant gets a seven-seat layout with a second-row bench seat featuring electric recline and ventilation.

Both second and third-row seats support electric folding and adjustment. Boot space is listed at 147 litres to 920 litres for the seven-seater, while the six-seater offers up to 902 litres.

Standard equipment includes Nappa leather upholstery, a Devialet 18-speaker audio system, a driver-focused cabin layout and a Starship Mecha-inspired exterior design.

Buyers can choose from five exterior colours — Alpine White, Dawn Gold, Eclipse Black, Emerald Green and Nebula Silver — together with Onyx Black or Jasper Brown interior themes.

Warranty And Ownership Package

DENZA is backing the B8 with a fairly comprehensive ownership package:

6-year / 150,000km vehicle warranty
6-year complimentary scheduled maintenance worth RM10,000
8-year / 160,000km high-voltage battery warranty

Complimentary V2L adapter worth RM700

CarTok Editor’s Note

The DENZA B8 is trying to be more than just another luxury SUV. What makes it interesting is not simply the power output or the claimed 1,040km range, but how many roles it is attempting to combine into a single vehicle.

Air suspension, plug-in hybrid range, off-road capability and a proper three-row cabin are all packaged into a vehicle aimed at buyers who want comfort and luxury, but also something capable of handling long-distance travel and less-than-perfect road conditions without compromise.

The challenge is perception. At over RM450,000, buyers are no longer comparing vehicles based on specifications alone. Brand confidence, ownership experience, aftersales support and resale value become just as important as the product itself. That is usually the hardest part for any brand trying to court the upmarket clientele.
