Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition In Malaysia, Exclusively With 1.5L Turbo

Chery Malaysia has introduced the TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition, giving its compact SUV a sportier visual treatment while retaining the existing 1.5-litre turbocharged powertrain.

The new variant is offered exclusively in Turbo specification and is currently on display at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya (7 to 11 October 2026).

The Sport Edition focuses on giving the TIGGO CROSS a more aggressive road presence, with sporty front and rear lips added to sharpen its appearance.

This also gives Chery another way to position the TIGGO CROSS to younger buyers looking for a more distinctive-looking SUV without moving into a substantially different mechanical package.

Turbo Power with 6-Speed DCT

Under the bonnet, the TIGGO CROSS Turbo uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 147PS and 210Nm, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The SUV is front-wheel drive and offers Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes. Chery quotes fuel consumption of 6.3 litres per 100km, with a 51-litre fuel tank, giving it a useful combination of fuel capacity and claimed efficiency for both commuting and longer trips.

Sportier Exterior, Familiar Cabin

The Sport Edition builds on the TIGGO CROSS’s existing design with the additional front and rear lips.

The standard design features include LED headlights, crystal-edged LED daytime running lights, a starry diamond-shaped grille and distinctive LED taillights.

Body colour choices for the Sport Edition are Carbon Black, Phantom Grey and Khaki White.

Inside, the TIGGO CROSS comes with a black interior, multi-colour ambient lighting, soft-touch instrument panel, faux leather seats and a multifunction leather steering wheel.

The driver’s seat gets six-way electric adjustment with lumbar support, while dual-zone automatic air-conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to set their own temperatures.

Included is also a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, together with a separate 10.25-inch driver display.

Other convenience features include a 15W wireless charger, USB ports, keyless entry, remote engine start, remote-control power tailgate and a 360-degree HD panoramic camera.

Roof rails are also fitted, giving the TIGGO CROSS some practical flexibility for carrying additional equipment.

16 ADAS Functions and Seven Airbags

Safety is another major part of the TIGGO CROSS package.

Theere are 16 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) functions, including Front Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Other advanced functions include Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Lane Change Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Integrated Cruise Control, Lane Departure Prevention, Emergency Lane Keeping, Door Opening Warning, Rear Collision Warning and Multi Collision Brake.

The SUV is also fitted with seven airbags, including front, side, curtain and far-side airbags. Additionally, more than 72% of the body structure uses high-strength steel.

Warranty And Early-Bird Package

The TIGGO CROSS comes with seven years or 150,000km of warranty coverage, including seven-year/150,000km engine coverage.

Chery Malaysia is also offering free labour for six scheduled services.

The TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition is priced at RM91,800. However, the promotional price is reduced to RM83,800 (terms & conditions apply).

CarTok Editor’s Note

With the Turbo variant already providing a fair amount of powertrain performance, the Sport Edition is a relatively straightforward formula: add visual aggression without needing to pay much more.

For buyers who like the TIGGO CROSS but find the standard design a little too restrained, this is the draw.
