Chery TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition Gets Sportier Look Ahead Of Malaysia Launch
Chery Malaysia has given an early look at the upcoming Chery TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition, a sportier addition to the TIGGO CROSS family that is set to make its official debut next month.
The new variant gets a visual makeover focused on its exterior, including sporty front and rear lips designed to give the SUV a sharper, more street-oriented stance.
Chery says the Sport Edition is aimed at a generation that embraces sports, gaming and active lifestyles, tying the new model to the brand’s growing involvement in sporting and e-sports activities in Malaysia.
The company has supported athletes from Olympians and Paralympians to grassroots sports, while its recent activities have included the Lee Chong Wei Cup badminton tournament, the KL Women Running Festival and the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia.
The TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition now brings some of that sporting theme directly to the vehicle.
Sport Edition Turbo
For its initial offering, the TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition will be available exclusively in Turbo specification.
Chery Malaysia has not yet disclosed the full specifications, pricing or other equipment changes for the Sport Edition.
That makes the front and rear styling additions the key details revealed for now, with the company keeping the rest of the package under wraps.
The Regular Edition is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo engine mated with a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission to give out 147PS and 210Nm of torque.
Into The Gaming Arena
The Sport Edition’s introduction also comes as Chery expands its presence in e-sports.
In conjunction with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s 10th anniversary, Chery has upgraded the prize for the Season 18 Legenda competition to a TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition.
It is a fitting crossover between Chery’s automotive push and the gaming community, giving the new variant a little more relevance beyond simply adding cosmetic upgrades to an existing SUV.
