MAN Malaysia Hosts NSLOA For 2026 Truck Showcase, CKD Assembly And Aftersales Tour

Members of the Negeri Sembilan Lorry Operators’ Association (NSLOA) recently had a behind-the-scenes look at MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd’s integrated headquarters in Shah Alam, where they were introduced to the company’s latest truck lineup, aftersales operations and local assembly capabilities.

The visit saw a 20-member NSLOA delegation led by its President, Lee Hung Yang, tour MAN Malaysia’s facilities and receive detailed briefings on the company’s 2026 truck product range, service centre operations and its Road Transport Department (JPJ)-certified CKD assembly line.

The Shah Alam facility is capable of assembling one MAN TGS prime mover every two days.

Strengthening Industry Collaboration

MAN Malaysia Managing Director Marc Appelt said the company has remained committed to supporting the Malaysian transport industry throughout its 35 years of operations in the country.

“Close collaboration with established and respected key transport industry stakeholders like NSLOA is important to gain the attention of the authorities and induce necessary action,” he said.

According to MAN Malaysia, fostering stronger engagement with industry associations enables the company to better understand operators’ needs while contributing towards positive developments within the commercial vehicle sector.

Long-Time Operators See Progress In Aftersales Support

For many members of NSLOA, which is Malaysia’s oldest trucking association, the visit marked their first opportunity to tour MAN Malaysia’s headquarters despite already operating MAN trucks within their fleets.

Lee, who is also Chairman of L & R Trading & Transport Sdn Bhd, said his company has been operating MAN trucks since the 1990s.

“We have been using MAN trucks since my father’s days back in the 1990s. We can see that MAN, especially its aftersales support, has improved significantly over the years.”

Several fleet operators also shared their experiences with MAN’s Repair and Maintenance Contract (RMC), highlighting its role in improving maintenance predictability and reducing operating costs.

Mawar Movers Sdn Bhd Managing Director Dato’ Suresh Kumar said:

“The MAN Repair and Maintenance Contract (RMC) makes it easy and cost-efficient to maintain the trucks. I definitely plan to extend the contract upon expiry.”

Rani Transport Sdn Bhd director RV Giri echoed similar sentiments.

“MAN Trucks are already very robust and reliable. The RMC means no headaches or costly surprises. All our seven units of MAN TGS are covered, making it hassle-free and worry-free.”

Aftersales Responsiveness Receives Praise

Beyond vehicle reliability, operators also highlighted MAN Malaysia’s aftersales responsiveness.

Sunmaju Sdn Bhd Head of Logistics Leon Teng, whose company operates multiple truck brands, said MAN Malaysia’s customer support stood out from his experiences with other manufacturers.

“We own and operate various truck brands and none can match MAN Malaysia’s level of service. Most service centres will close at 6.00 pm and will not be contactable until the next day. It was a pleasant surprise when MAN Malaysia messaged me late in the night to tell me that our truck, which went in for servicing, was ready for collection the next morning at 8.30 am.”

A truck’s performance isn’t measured only by what it can carry or how efficiently it burns fuel. It’s also measured by how quickly it gets back on the road when something goes wrong. Fleet operators understand that buying the truck is only the beginning. The actual ownership experience is defined by the strength of the aftersales network that keeps trucks running and businesses moving.
