MAN Takes Malaysian Bus Operators Behind The Scenes In Germany And Türkiye

MAN recently took a delegation of leading express bus operators from Malaysia and Singapore on a seven-day immersion programme across Germany and Türkiye, offering a first-hand look at the engineering, manufacturing and technologies behind its premium bus and coach solutions.
The visit brought the delegation to MAN’s headquarters in Munich, its manufacturing facility in Nuremberg and its modern bus and coach production plant in Ankara, Türkiye.
The programme was designed to strengthen customer confidence by giving operators direct access to MAN’s facilities, technical experts and senior management, while providing a deeper understanding of the processes behind the vehicles they operate.

From Factory Floors To Future Bus Technologies
The delegation participated in technical presentations, factory tours and discussions covering MAN’s engineering capabilities and future mobility developments.
Among the technologies showcased were safety systems designed to protect drivers, passengers and pedestrians, digital connectivity and fleet management solutions, battery-electric bus technologies and emerging mobility concepts.

For operators who have already invested in MAN coaches, the programme also provided an opportunity to understand the manufacturing standards and technical expertise supporting their vehicles, as well as the aftersales support available to keep their businesses running.
The visit also allowed MAN’s Sales and Engineering teams to gather direct feedback from customers in the Asian region.
“This visit was a great opportunity not only to show our customers MAN’s production facilities, but also for our Sales and Engineering teams to hear the voice of the customer directly. These fruitful exchanges will help us with our further development in the Asian region,” said Anvar Kasimov, Head of Bus, MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MAN Malaysia).
MAN Highlights Long-Term Value For Bus Operators
MAN Malaysia Managing Director Marc Appelt said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to building lasting customer relationships through transparency, engagement and dependable support.
He said MAN’s premium bus and coach chassis combine performance, passenger comfort, fuel efficiency, reliability and sustainability, alongside aftersales support and predictable operating costs.
“We are pleased to see more Malaysian bus operators recognising the value that MAN brings to their businesses. By giving our customers direct access to our people, facilities and technologies, we want to strengthen their confidence in MAN and demonstrate how we can help simplify their operations over the long term,” he said.
For commercial bus operators, these considerations extend beyond the initial vehicle purchase. Reliability, operating costs and aftersales support all play a role in keeping vehicles on the road and maintaining service continuity.

First-Hand Experience With MAN Buses
Pancaran Matahari Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd Executive Chairman Mohd Kaharuddin bin Salleh said the visit reinforced his confidence in MAN, particularly after seeing its manufacturing capabilities up close.
He highlighted the Ankara facility as a key part of the experience, alongside the opportunity to test-drive some of the buses produced there.

“The highlight for me was visiting MAN’s modern bus manufacturing facility in Ankara and having the opportunity to test-drive some of the advanced buses produced there. Seeing the technology and production processes first-hand gave me a greater appreciation of what goes into building a MAN vehicle,” he said.
The visit forms part of MAN Malaysia’s efforts to deepen relationships with local bus operators and demonstrate the engineering and support behind its premium commercial vehicle offerings.
