JETOUR G700 Ark Edition Demonstrates Production-Grade Amphibious Technology

The JETOUR G700 Ark Edition has demonstrated its ability to navigate on water during the 2026 JETOUR Global Technology Experience Day, showcasing the brand’s efforts to extend all-terrain mobility beyond conventional off-road driving.

Held at JETOUR G Series’ specialised navigation base, the event featured an emergency navigation trial followed by hands-on driving experiences for international media. The demonstration highlighted the vehicle’s amphibious capabilities and the technology underpinning JETOUR’s GAIA Ark Tech system.

JETOUR said the real-world trial demonstrated the amphibious capabilities of a production vehicle, representing a further step in the development of all-terrain mobility solutions for specialised applications.

How GAIA Ark Tech Enables Water Navigation

GAIA Ark Tech is designed to support mobility in demanding environments, including emergency rescue, outdoor exploration and field operations. It combines conventional off-road capability with systems developed specifically for controlled movement on water.

The technology integrates a comprehensive sealing system, an intelligent navigation stability system and a dedicated 800V water-fording system connected to the CEM-O Amphibious Range-Extender.

When navigation mode is activated, the powertrain redirects energy to the dedicated water-fording system, allowing the vehicle to move forward and maintain directional control on water.

JETOUR also highlighted IP68-rated protection for key components as part of the system. Together, these measures are intended to extend the vehicle’s capabilities beyond conventional water wading to controlled on-water navigation.

The manufacturer positions the technology for situations where conventional road access may be limited, although the practical operating limits of the amphibious system were not detailed in the announcement.

GAIA All-Terrain Architecture

The G700 Ark Edition shares the same GAIA all-terrain intelligent architecture as the standard G700, retaining a common core technology foundation and consistent quality standards, according to JETOUR.

With GAIA Ark Tech, the vehicle combines off-road driving with water navigation and emergency mobility capabilities. This approach is intended to broaden its potential applications across different environments, rather than limiting its role to conventional road and off-road travel.

Feedback from those who experienced the G700 Ark Edition described it as a production-grade amphibious vehicle, highlighting its on-water stability, system integration and retention of land-based all-terrain capability.

JETOUR said it will continue developing all-terrain mobility solutions for travel and specialised applications worldwide.

CarTok Editor’s Note

In Malaysia, where monsoon rains can turn roads into rivers, an SUV that can navigate on water sounds rather useful. Anyone who has watched a familiar route disappear beneath floodwater will understand the appeal.

Of course, the G700 Ark Edition is not a licence to drive through every flood. There are still plenty of hazards, regardless of what a vehicle’s technology promises.

Still, if JETOUR can make amphibious mobility reliable, safe and practical beyond controlled demonstrations, the technology could have applications in flood-prone areas, especially for emergency response and access to isolated communities.
