The locally assembled MG ZS is officially launched in Malaysia, with the 1.5 Turbo priced at RM103,900 and the Hybrid+ at RM109,900, making the hybrid powertrain just RM6,000 more expensive.
SAIC Motor Malaysia introduced two variants of the MG ZS to offer Malaysian buyers a choice between a conventional turbocharged petrol engine and a self-charging hybrid system.
Customers who book either variant can enjoy early-bird rewards worth RM3,000 and five years of complimentary maintenance. In addition, MG ZS Hybrid+ buyers will receive an extra RM3,000 year-end reward (valid until 31 December 2026).
MG ZS 1.5 Turbo buyers can also benefit from a special financing package through Hong Leong Bank and Bank Rakyat during the same period.
For the first 3,000 customers, SAIC Motor Malaysia is offering an upgraded seven-year, unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty. The Hybrid+ battery is covered by an eight-year, 160,000km warranty.

MG ZS Hybrid+: 215PS & 465Nm
The MG ZS Hybrid+ combines a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder petrol engine with a 100kW electric motor and a 1.83kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery.
The hybrid system delivers a combined maximum output of 215PS (158kW) and 465Nm of torque, with power managed by a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).
MG claims a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 8.7 seconds and fuel consumption of 4.7 litres per 100km.
The Hybrid+ features eight propulsion modes and a 41-litre fuel tank, with a claimed driving range of up to 870km. It can also operate in electric-only mode at speeds of up to 80km/h under suitable driving conditions. The relatively small battery pack is designed to support the hybrid system rather than provide an extended electric-only driving range.
As a conventional hybrid, it does not require external charging, making it an option for drivers who want some of the benefits of electric propulsion without needing to plug in.

MG ZS 1.5 Turbo: 170PS Of Petrol Power
The MG ZS 1.5 Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine featuring direct injection and an all-aluminium construction.
It produces 170PS (125kW) and 275Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed high-performance continuously variable transmission (CVT) driving the front wheels.
The transmission is designed to handle torque loads of up to 325Nm.
The Turbo variant has a claimed combined fuel consumption figure of 6.9 litres per 100km and a 55-litre fuel tank.
For buyers who prefer a conventional petrol-powered SUV, the Turbo offers a lower entry price while retaining the same overall body style and cabin features as the Hybrid+.

30 Storage Compartments
Measuring 4,430mm long and 1,818mm wide, the MG ZS is designed to provide a spacious cabin for everyday use.
The interior features an all-black finish with perforated leatherette seats, while both front seats are ventilated.
The driver-focused cockpit includes a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch floating infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster.

One highlight is the 30 storage compartments throughout the cabin, alongside generous headroom and legroom.
Boot capacity is 443 litres, and expands to 1,457 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Both variants feature 18-inch alloy wheels and three driving modes – Eco, Normal and Sport – allowing drivers to adjust the driving experience to suit different conditions.

Exterior features include Connected Hunter Eyes headlights, black grille accents, aerodynamic body sculpting, rear LED taillights and a rear spoiler.
The MG ZS is available in four exterior colours: Flare Red, Silver, Andes Grey and York White.
MG PILOT Safety Technology And MG iSMART
The MG ZS has earned a five-star ANCAP safety rating and comes equipped with MG PILOT driver safety technology, featuring 16 driver assistance functions.
These include Intelligent Headlight Control and Intelligent Cruise Control.
The MG iSMART connected-car system allows owners to remotely access and control selected vehicle functions through a smartphone, including keyless entry.

Warranty
The upgraded warranty package is available to the first 3,000 customers, covering both MG ZS variants with a seven-year, unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty.
For the Hybrid+, the battery receives separate coverage of eight years or 160,000km.
MG ZS test-drive units are now available at authorised MG showrooms nationwide.

CarTok Editor’s Note
At RM109,900, the Hybrid+ is only RM6,000 more than the RM103,900 Turbo, while offering considerably more power and lower claimed fuel consumption.
This makes the hybrid worth serious consideration particularly for buyers who spend much of their time in urban traffic. The additional RM3,000 year-end reward for the Hybrid+ further strengthens its appeal.
The MG ZS faces stiff competition in this segment where buyers are not short on choices.
