BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro Ushers In Neue Klasse Era In Malaysia

BMW Malaysia has officially launched the all-new BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro, marking the debut of the brand’s long-awaited Neue Klasse generation in Malaysia.

Already crowned 2026 World Car of the Year and 2026 World Electric Vehicle of the Year, the new iX3 represents BMW’s biggest technological leap in decades, introducing its sixth-generation eDrive electric drivetrain, 800-volt charging architecture and an entirely new digital cockpit experience.

BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director Benjamin Nagel described the new iX3 as the model that will define the future direction of the BMW brand, much like the original Neue Klasse did in the 1960s.

Up To 805km Of range

Power comes from BMW’s sixth-generation electric drive system featuring dual electric motors and an all-wheel-drive xDrive setup.

The system produces 345kW (469hp) and 645Nm, enabling strong performance while delivering a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 805km from its 108.7kWh usable battery.

The 800V electrical architecture supports DC fast charging of up to 400kW, allowing up to 372km of driving range to be added in just 10 minutes (under ideal conditions).

BMW also introduces the Heart of Joy control unit, which integrates power delivery, regenerative braking and chassis control. The company says the system reacts up to ten times faster than conventional vehicle control systems, improving both driving precision and ride comfort.

New Digital Cockpit

Inside, the iX3 debuts BMW Panoramic iDrive, headlined by the 43.3-inch BMW Panoramic Vision display projected across the base of the windscreen.

Supporting it are a new 3D Head-Up Display, a 17.9-inch central touchscreen running BMW Operating System X, and an AI-enhanced BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant capable of learning driver routines.

Other standard equipment includes:

  • Harman Kardon 13-speaker audio system
  • Heated and ventilated M Sport seats with massage function
  • Three-zone automatic climate control
  • Panoramic glass roof
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • BMW Digital Key Plus

Practicality remains a priority with 520 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,750 litres with the rear seats folded. A 58-litre front storage compartment (frunk) is also included.

CarTok Editor’s Note

The iX3 is significant beyond just another premium EV launch. It is the first production BMW based on the Neue Klasse (New Class) philosophy that will underpin virtually every future BMW model.

While features such as an 800V electrical system, AI-assisted user interface and over-800km WLTP range place it among the most advanced EVs available today, it also raises the benchmark for premium electric SUVs entering Malaysia over the next few years.
