OMODA | JAECOO Brings Full SUV Line-Up, AiMOGA Robots To Penang Autoshow 2026

OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia is showcasing its latest SUV line-up alongside advanced robotics at the MARii Penang Autoshow 2026, taking place from 1 to 3 May at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC). The display combines electrified models, interactive technology and the public debut of the AiMOGA humanoid robot, signalling the brand’s growing focus on intelligent mobility and customer experience.
“OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia is proud to participate in Penang Autoshow 2026 with a showcase that reflects who we are today. Penang remains one of our most important markets, and this platform allows us to connect more closely with customers while introducing our latest ownership offers to further enhance overall value,” said Head of OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia, Chris Tan.
“In just three short years, OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia has grown to a strong community of more than over 28,000 customers nationwide, while recording 153% year-on-year growth in 2025. As the brand evolves from a traditional automaker into a full-stack technology powerhouse, we are proud to present not only our latest SUV models, but also the AiMOGA robot, offering a glimpse into the future of customer interaction. We look forward to welcoming visitors and sharing the next chapter of OMODA | JAECOO in Malaysia,” he added.
Full SUV Line-up on Display
Headlining the showcase are three key models positioned across different segments and use cases — the all-new JAECOO J5, the JAECOO J7 PHEV, and the flagship OMODA C9 PHEV.
The JAECOO J5 enters as a B-segment SUV focused on urban lifestyles, pairing compact proportions with a high-rigidity body structure and rear multi-link suspension. Inside, it features a 13.2-inch 2K infotainment display, 540-degree camera system, 50W ventilated wireless charging, and a 1.45m² panoramic roof. Practicality is supported by a 480-litre boot, while TÜV-certified pet-friendly materials and in-car karaoke functionality add a lifestyle-oriented angle. Safety includes ADAS Level 2+.

For electrified performance, the JAECOO J7 PHEV continues as one of Malaysia’s best-selling non-national plug-in hybrids in 2025. It pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor to produce 347 hp and 525 Nm, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of 8.5 seconds. An 18.3 kWh LFP battery supports a claimed total range of over 1,200 km, positioning it as a long-distance-capable PHEV SUV.

At the top end, the OMODA C9 PHEV brings a more premium, performance-focused proposition. Its 1.5T Super Hybrid System with a tri-motor setup and 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission delivers 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, alongside up to 169 km of electric-only range (NEDC) and over 1,100 km combined range. The model also features a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, ADAS Level 2.5 with 22 safety functions, and a high-spec cabin with SONY audio, Qualcomm 8155 chipset, and ventilated and heated seats.
AiMOGA Robots Make Public Debut
Beyond vehicles, the showcase is anchored by the debut of the AiMOGA Mornine humanoid robot, which will introduce the SUV line-up to visitors. Designed with conversational AI and human-like movement, the robot is positioned as a future interface for customer engagement.
It is joined by the AiMOGA Argos robotic dog, a quadruped platform engineered for mobility across uneven terrain, with potential applications in security, inspection and monitoring.

Test Drives, Activities and Limited-time Offers
Visitors can test drive the J5, J7 PHEV and C9 PHEV around Penang Island, with incentives including a complimentary Touch ’n Go charm upon completion. Additional activities include social media challenges, gachapon giveaways and exclusive gifts for bookings made during the event.
Alongside the showcase, OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia is offering limited-time promotions from 1 to 3 May. Highlights include up to RM7,000 rebates for the J7 PHEV, complimentary insurance for selected models, and free maintenance packages of up to five years depending on the model. The C9 PHEV (MY2025 units) also receives added benefits including a V2L cable.

CarTok Editor’s Note
The cars matter — especially the J7 PHEV and C9 PHEV as Malaysia’s electrified SUV space heats up — but the bigger signal here is direction. OMODA | JAECOO isn’t just selling vehicles anymore; it’s also testing how far it can stretch into a tech-driven ownership experience. Whether buyers are ready for robots in the showroom is another matter, but the intent is clear.
