ORIC 2026 Brings Urban Off-Road Camping Festival To MAEPS This Weekend

A new off-road and outdoor lifestyle festival is set to debut at MAEPS Serdang this weekend as “Offroad in the City” (ORIC) aims to bring Malaysia’s 4×4 and camping communities together closer to the Klang Valley.
Organised by Mobility Media Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Rainforest Challenge (RFC) International team, the three-day event will take place from 30 May to 1 June at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), Selangor.
Unlike traditional off-road gatherings that typically require long-distance travel into remote areas, ORIC positions itself as an urban camping and off-road festival designed to reduce travel time, fuel costs and holiday traffic congestion during the long weekend.
The organisers say the event will also serve as a central meeting point for off-road clubs from across the region, allowing enthusiasts from different groups to network and share experiences in one location. The event is supported by the Malaysian Four Wheel Drive Association.
RFC-Designed Off-Road Challenges
Off-road action remains one of the key highlights of ORIC, with the RFC International team designing dedicated challenge tracks on a hill slope facing the main campsite area.
Participants and spectators can expect a series of fun driving challenges, including two extreme off-road tracks reserved exclusively for winch-equipped vehicles.
The setup allows visitors to experience competitive off-road driving without having to travel deep into remote jungle trails, which has traditionally been part of Malaysia’s off-road culture.

Rare 4×4 Builds And Automotive Collectibles
Beyond the trails, ORIC will also feature family-oriented activities, camping experiences and food vendors throughout the weekend.
Land Rover enthusiasts are expected to host an automotive boot sale featuring rare parts and collectibles, while six custom-built 4×4 vehicles from across Peninsular Malaysia will also be showcased at the event.
Among the headline attractions is what organisers claim to be the world’s only Toyota Century V12 engine-swapped Toyota Land Cruiser 60 Series.
That unusual combination alone is likely to attract hardcore off-road and JDM enthusiasts curious to see how a luxury V12 drivetrain ended up inside a classic off-road icon.
Outdoor Survival And Wildlife Workshops
The festival will also include educational and outdoor survival sessions led by industry experts.
Kit and Hafidz from The Nest@MAEPS will conduct wilderness survival and campcraft workshops, while herpetologist and professional nature guide Steven Wong will host wildlife safety talks focused on snake awareness and outdoor safety practices.
The inclusion of these sessions reflects how modern camping events are increasingly blending lifestyle, education and outdoor preparedness into a broader community experience.
EVs Join The Camping Scene
In a first for the event, ORIC will also welcome electric vehicles (EVs), with EV owners expected to demonstrate vehicle “Camp Mode” setups that allow users to power camping equipment and maintain cabin cooling while outdoors.
The move highlights how EV ownership is slowly extending beyond urban commuting into recreational and outdoor lifestyles, particularly as more EVs begin offering bidirectional power functions and extended auxiliary power support.

Connected To Malaysia’s Largest Bike Show
Visitors attending ORIC will also have access to Malaysia’s largest bike show happening simultaneously inside MAEPS Halls A and C, with complimentary tram shuttle services connecting both events.
Registration counters for campers and off-road participants will operate daily from 9am to 6pm throughout the event period.
The first 70 participants to register will also receive exclusive goodie bags on a first-come, first-served basis.
CarTok Editor’s Note
What makes ORIC interesting is not just the off-road action, but the changing culture around it. Events like this show how Malaysia’s outdoor and automotive communities are evolving beyond hardcore trail driving into something more lifestyle-driven, family-friendly and even EV-inclusive.
