TOMICA Opens First Brand Store in Southeast Asia at Suria KLCC

TOMY Company, Ltd. has officially opened the first TOMICA BRAND STORE in Southeast Asia, marking its regional debut right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The new store is located within the Toys“R”Us IP Flagship Collection Store at Suria KLCC, adopting a shop-in-shop concept blending retail, merchandise display, and brand storytelling.

This is TOMICA’s third dedicated brand store globally, following openings in Shanghai (September 2024) and Beijing (September 2025).

A TOMICA Playground Inside Toys“R”Us

Situated on Level 2, LC 203, Ramlee Mall, Suria KLCC, the store is designed as both a shopping destination and an information hub for fans of all ages. TOMY describes the space as a place to experience its brand message, “Only the Real Thing Moves”, while exploring the world of TOMICA.

From the outside, the store resembles a giant TOMICA box. Inside, visitors are greeted by several themed zones, including:

  • Wheel Table, a centrepiece display made from stacked wheels
  • TOMICA WALL, showcasing more than 2,000 diecast cars
  • TOMICA KIDULTS AREA, aimed at adult collectors with a playful streak
  • Recommended Corner, highlighting new releases
  • TOMICA HISTORY AREA, charting the brand’s heritage since 1970

A Brand with Generations of Fans

First introduced in 1970 as Japan’s first domestic palm-sized diecast car series, TOMICA has grown into a global name among collectors and families alike. To-date, over 10,000 models have been released, with cumulative sales exceeding one billion units as of December 2024.

The official opening ceremony was attended by representatives from TOMY, Toys“R”Us, and TOMICA’s Malaysian distributor, including:

Speaking at the launch, Ochiai Kiyoshi, Managing Director of TOMY ASIA, said:

Having TOMICA anchor our IP Flagship Collection Store at Suria KLCC elevates the entire concept, giving families, fans and collectors of all ages an inspiring destination that brings our brand promise ‘Live Toyful’ to life.”

Exclusive Items and Launch Activities

To mark the opening, two original TOMICA BRAND STORE products will be available exclusively at this store in Malaysia. Selected original items from TOMICA shops in Japan will also be offered.

Visitors can also enjoy special launch activities, including:

  • Promotional gifts and branded giveaways
  • Interactive sessions such as Mosaic Art and White TOMICA Colouring
  • Meet & Greet sessions with TOMICA Mascot, T-KUN, happening three times daily from 18 – 21 December 2025
