Ipone Malaysia has officially introduced its full range of upgraded motorcycle engine oils, marking a significant step forward for the French lubricant brand in the local two-wheel market.
The announcement was made by Specialty Lubricants Trading Sdn Bhd (SLT), the official principal of Ipone in Malaysia. The refreshed product range comes with new packaging designs, enhanced formulations, and SIRIM certification, reinforcing Ipone’s commitment to quality, safety, and reliability for Malaysian riders.
Positioned as a premium motorcycle lubricant brand under the Motul Group, Ipone is known for oils developed specifically for motorcycles, focusing on performance, durability, and protection across a wide range of riding conditions.

Upgraded Formulations Using Premium Base Oils
Central to the launch are Ipone’s upgraded formulations, which utilise 100% PAO (Polyalphaolefin) and ester base oils — classified as Group 4 and Group 5 base oils, the highest grades currently used in lubricant technology.
By combining ester with these premium base oils, Ipone aims to deliver improved engine protection, consistent performance, and enhanced efficiency. The range is designed to cater to daily commuters, long-distance tourers, performance enthusiasts, and track riders alike.
Product Line-up Inspired by Japanese Judo Belts
Ipone’s refreshed product range adopts a clear visual hierarchy inspired by Japanese judo belts, making it easier for riders to identify oil grades and intended usage. This is complemented by manga-inspired packaging, reflecting the brand’s Japanese influence and bold identity.
The line-up consists of:
- Shogun (Black Belt): Designed for riders seeking maximum protection and performance, suitable for track use and high-performance street riding.
- Samourai & Katana (Blue Belt): Fully synthetic oils offering premium performance, responsiveness, and durability for spirited daily riding.
- R4000 (Green Belt) & 10.4 (Orange Belt): Semi-synthetic oils balancing protection, performance, and value for commuting, touring, and mixed usage.
- M4 (Yellow Belt): Mineral oil formulated for compatible motorcycles, workshops, and riders seeking reliable, accessible lubrication while maintaining Ipone’s quality standards.
Each product tier is visually differentiated by colour and naming, representing rider progression from entry-level usage through to top-tier performance.
