Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT Debuts In Malaysia — First Chinese-Brand Light-Duty Truck With AMT

Angka-Tan Motor has introduced the Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2026 (MCVE 2026), marking what it claims as the first Chinese-brand light-duty truck in Malaysia fitted with an automated manual transmission.

Assembled locally, the new model is positioned as a more driver-friendly option for urban logistics and last-mile delivery work, with the AMT setup aimed at smoother gear changes, lower driver fatigue and better fuel efficiency in stop-and-go traffic.

Powered by a Cummins ISF 3.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT is rated at 154 PS at 2,600 rpm and 500 Nm of torque from 1,200 rpm to 1,900 rpm. The engine meets Euro 5 emissions standards, with power sent to the rear wheels through a ZF six-speed AMT gearbox.

According to Angka-Tan Motor, the powertrain is designed to help reduce running costs through improved fuel economy and longer service intervals. The company also said the AMT system could widen the driver pool, including greater participation from female drivers.

Built For Urban Logistics

The Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT is designed for modern delivery operations, with a practical cargo-focused layout and ease of use as key priorities. It measures 6,930 mm long, 2,060 mm wide and 2,250 mm tall, with a 3,800 mm wheelbase.

Gross vehicle weight ranges from 7,500 kg to 9,900 kg, depending on configuration.

On the safety front, the truck comes with Anti-lock Braking System, Anti-Slip Regulation and Hill Start Assist. The cab structure is also said to meet ECE R29 standards, while the truck’s platform is part of Foton’s “Super Truck Global Innovation Alliance”.

Angka-Tan Motor said the Aumark S has already been validated through more than 3,000,000 km of real-world testing across different operating conditions.

Part Of A Wider Foton AMT Rollout

The new light-duty model follows the introduction of the Foton Auman R Euro 5 AMT in November last year, which brought the same transmission upgrade to the heavy-duty segment.

Together with the Auman R, the new Aumark S forms part of Foton’s broader AMT portfolio in Malaysia, with the aim of standardising the driving experience across both light- and heavy-duty trucks while improving operational efficiency. Including AMT in its portfolio also helps the logistics industry tackle the ever-present issue of shortage of truck drivers.

Angka-Tan Motor said its commercial vehicle range also includes the fully electric Foton eAumark for zero-emission operations and the Foton Bus (based on the Aumark S platform) for people mobility, giving operators a wider mix of vehicles for different business needs.

Pricing And Warranty

The Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT is priced at RM128,800, with an industry-leading six-year/300,000 km warranty.

James Tan, Chief Executive Officer of Warisan TC Holdings Berhad, said, “This new addition represents our commitment to innovation and to delivering practical solutions that support businesses across the logistics and transportation ecosystem.”

He added, “Angka-Tan Motor also aims to strengthen its position in the commercial vehicle market, particularly within the light commercial vehicle segment. Our ambition is clear — to become a key player in the light commercial vehicle segment by capturing a significant market share and delivering products that meet the demands of modern businesses.”

The launch also marks 15 years of Angka-Tan Motor as the authorised distributor of Foton trucks in Malaysia.

Aftersales Support

All Foton commercial vehicles in Malaysia are covered by Foton Total Care, backed by Tan Chong Group’s service network. The package includes nationwide servicing, genuine parts access, TC Trust service agreements, driver training, one-stop repair and insurance service, and 24-hour Res-Q support.

The Foton Aumark S Euro 5 AMT will be on display MCVE 2026 which is held at the MINES International Exhibition & Convention Centre until 16 May 2026. It is shown alongside the Foton Auman R 6×4 LX, Foton Auman R 6×2 Air Suspension and the Foton Bus built on the Aumark S platform.

CarTok Editor’s Note

Truck driver shortages are not just a Malaysian problem, but part of a wider challenge facing the logistics industry globally. This is why manufacturers are moving towards trucks that are easier to drive, reduce fatigue in daily operations, and lower running costs for fleet operators. In this context, AMT-equipped trucks are becoming less of a luxury and more of a practical business tool.
