JAC Launches N90 Light-Duty Truck In Malaysia, From RM118,000

JAC Motors has launched the JAC N90 light-duty truck at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo (MCVE) 2026, expanding its commercial vehicle range with a new 7.5-tonne model aimed at logistics, distribution and construction operators.
Positioned as a higher-capacity light-duty truck for long-distance and high-frequency operations, the N90 combines a Cummins diesel powertrain, multiple wheelbase configurations and a suite of active safety systems.

According to JAC International general manager Oscar Yu, the truck reflects the company’s latest push into technologically advanced commercial vehicles.
“The all-new N90 represents the next step in JAC Motors’ commitment to delivering high-performance and technologically advanced commercial vehicles,” said Yu. He added that collaborations with companies such as Volkswagen, Cummins and Huawei have helped strengthen JAC’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
The N90 is the sixth-generation model in JAC’s global light-duty truck line-up, and has surpassed 3.2 million units sold worldwide.
Cummins Diesel With 540Nm
Powering the JAC N90 is a Euro 5-compliant Cummins B4.5 diesel engine paired with an Eaton-Fuller ESO-6106A transmission. Jointly developed by JAC and Cummins, the 4.5-litre engine produces 118kW at 2,300rpm and 540Nm of torque between 1,100rpm and 1,800rpm.
According to JAC, the drivetrain is tuned for improved fuel efficiency during highway use, with the engine operating between 1,200rpm and 1,600rpm at cruising speeds of 80kph to 90kph. The company estimates fuel savings of between 3 – 5 per cent compared to direct-drive transmission setups.

The N90 is built around a 7.5-tonne gross vehicle mass (GVM) platform and is offered with wheelbase options ranging from 3,365mm to 4,800mm. This allows operators the freedom to configure the truck for different applications including cargo transport, refrigerated delivery operations and construction use.

Safety And Cabin Features
On the inside, the N90 bears JAC’s latest-generation cab with a focus on long-haul comfort and day-to-day usability. Key features include a driver’s seat with air suspension, adjustable armrest, 10.4-inch multimedia touchscreen and LCD instrument cluster.
Safety-wise, it includes Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR), Hill-Start Assist (HAS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

The JAC N90 is priced from RM118,000 for the bare chassis variant. It is covered by a 6-year or 300,000km warranty (whichever comes first), along with a complimentary 10,000km service programme.
Displayed alongside the N90 are the JAC i40 EV light-duty truck and JAC T9 EV pickup truck, highlighting the company’s broader push into electrified commercial mobility.

CarTok Editor’s Note
Optimising modern commercial trucks is no longer just about brute mechanical durability. It is increasingly about reducing driver fatigue, fuel costs and downtime. Features such as stability control, multimedia systems and lower-rpm highway cruising are now becoming just as important as outright torque and payload capacity, especially as fleet operators face rising operating costs and an ongoing shortage of experienced drivers.
