Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus Debuts At KLIMS 2026 With Up To 450km Range, New Comfort Features

PRO-NET has unveiled the new Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, introducing a higher-spec variant of Malaysia’s first national EV with a larger battery, longer driving range and additional comfort features.

The new variant joins the existing Prime and Premium models, further expanding the Proton e.MAS 7 lineup as Proton’s EV brand continues to strengthen its position in Malaysia’s EV market.

According to PRO-NET, the e.MAS 7 Premium Plus is designed to offer greater convenience for daily driving while improving long-distance travel comfort.

Larger Battery Delivers Up To 450km WLTP Range

The biggest upgrade comes in the form of a larger 68.39kWh AEGIS Short Blade Battery, which increases the estimated WLTP driving range to up to 450km.

The extended range is aimed at addressing one of the most common concerns among EV buyers, particularly those who frequently travel beyond city limits.

Despite the larger battery pack, DC fast charging performance remains unchanged, with charging speeds of up to 115kW. Proton says the battery can still be charged from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes under suitable charging conditions.

Added Focus On Passenger Comfort

Beyond the battery upgrade, the Premium Plus introduces several comfort-focused features not previously available in the e.MAS 7 range.

These include:

  • Dual front massage seats
  • Powered front passenger seat with four-way adjustment
  • Front passenger seat memory function
  • Integrated passenger leg rest

According to Proton, the combination of a 450km WLTP range, dual front massage seats and an integrated passenger leg rest makes the e.MAS 7 Premium Plus unique within its segment.

The additional equipment further positions the model as a family-oriented EV aimed at buyers seeking greater comfort for longer journeys.

CarTok Editor’s Note

Range remains important, but comfort, convenience and everyday usability are also influential purchasing factors. For that crowd of buyers, PROTON has stretched the e.MAS 7 range out to greet them. As EV competition intensifies, PROTON needs to ensure that it stays at the front of the race, and having a model with broad appeal across a wide budget range might help keep it there.
