A Vision for Malaysia’s Automotive Future

Spanning 200 acres, the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park is set to be the anchor development of the larger 800-acre Beringin HTA Valley. This strategic investment, valued at RM2.2 billion over the next five years, aims to position Hulu Selangor as a leader in automotive technology, attracting top talent and fostering innovation.

Once completed in 2026, the facility is expected to have an initial production capacity of 100,000 vehicles per year, with scalability up to 300,000 units annually. The park will support the production of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles alongside cutting-edge plug-in hybrid (PHEV), battery electric (BEV), and energy-efficient vehicle (EEV) technologies.

Driving Economic Growth and Innovation

Chery International President Zhang Guibing emphasized the company’s commitment to Malaysia’s automotive sector, stating, “Chery is proud to be part of this visionary project. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing and R&D facilities will not only create high-value job opportunities but also strengthen Malaysia’s role as an automotive hub in ASEAN.”

Legenda Beringin Chairman Chia Song Kooi echoed this sentiment, highlighting the project’s alignment with Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan. “This development is more than just a land investment; it’s a step towards making Malaysia a high-tech, sustainable industrial economy by 2030.”

The remaining land within Beringin HTA Valley will be utilized for complementary developments, including automotive supply chain support, vocational training centers, and technology-driven initiatives. The goal is to create a holistic ecosystem that supports the region’s long-term growth and positions Malaysia at the forefront of automotive advancements.

Strengthening Selangor’s Investment Appeal

Chery’s continued investment in Selangor underscores global confidence in the state’s industrial ecosystem. The Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park will not only boost vehicle exports to neighboring countries but also solidify Malaysia’s reputation as a key player in the automotive industry.

As the Beringin HTA Valley takes shape, this strategic partnership between Chery Malaysia and Legenda Beringin signals a bright future for Malaysia’s automotive sector, paving the way for innovation, economic growth, and a new era of sustainable mobility.
