Chery Malaysia has broadened its TIGGO 8 line-up with the introduction of a new, more attainable seven-seater SUV, positioned below the flagship TIGGO 8 PRO and TIGGO 8 PHEV Chery Super Hybrid.
Aimed at families seeking generous space, strong performance and long-term value, the new TIGGO 8 joins Chery’s growing TIGGO SUV family with a single, well-equipped variant priced from RM129,800 (Peninsular Malaysia) and RM132,500 (East Malaysia).
“Following the encouraging demand for the TIGGO 8 series and the feedback we received from our Malaysian customers, we saw an opportunity to further enhance this line-up with a new variant that is ideal for customers seeking a vehicle with generous space and strong overall value,” said Lee Wen Hsiang, Vice President of Chery Malaysia.
Turbocharged Performance with Practical Efficiency
Powering the TIGGO 8 is a 1.6-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDi) engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and front-wheel drive.
The powertrain delivers 197 PS (145 kW) and 290 Nm of torque, placing it among the stronger performers in the mid-size seven-seater SUV segment. Chery claims fuel consumption of approximately 7.0 L/100 km, balancing performance with everyday efficiency.
Drivers can select between Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes to cater to different preferences, while an electronic stalk shifter and adaptive cruise control are standard.
Size, Space and Practicality
The TIGGO 8 measures 4,722 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, and rides on a 2,710 mm wheelbase, offering a stable footprint for family use and highway cruising. Curb weight is listed at 1,590 kg which isn’t heavy for a 7-seater.
With both rear rows folded, boot capacity expands to up to 1,930 litres. This is backed by a hands-free power tailgate for added convenience. Roof rails and an 18-inch wheel and tyre package (235/55 R18) round out the standard package.
Interior Comfort and Technology
Inside, the TIGGO 8 focuses on comfort and convenience, featuring:

Safety is a key pillar of the TIGGO 8, which uses 74% high-strength steel in its body structure and comes standard with six airbags.
