Gerimis Baiduri Expands Fleet with UD Trucks Kuzer to Boost Cold Chain Logistics Efficiency in Malaysia

Malaysian cold chain logistics specialist Gerimis Baiduri Sdn Bhd has strengthened its fleet with the addition of five units of the UD Trucks Kuzer, aimed at improving daily delivery efficiency within the frozen and chilled goods sector.
The light-duty trucks were delivered by LK Utara Sdn Bhd, a dealer of Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE), the sole authorised distributor of UD Trucks in Malaysia. A handover ceremony was recently held at Gerimis Baiduri’s headquarters in Puchong, attended by senior representatives from all three companies.
Gerimis Baiduri said the new trucks will support higher productivity and better operational uptime as demand grows for reliable temperature-controlled logistics services across Malaysia.

Strengthening a Long-Term Partnership
Gerimis Baiduri has been a UD Trucks customer since 2008 and today operates more than 100 units of the brand’s light- and medium-duty commercial vehicles.
Dato Liew Tiam Seng, Managing Director of Gerimis Baiduri shared, “Since our establishment 25 years ago, Gerimis Baiduri has grown to become one of Malaysia’s important logistics providers specializing in frozen and refrigerated trucks, offering customized solutions to all our clients. We emphasized on developing our people, instilling passion in them and creating progress together to deliver exceptional transportation services, with a focus on environmental sustainability and exceeding customer expectations.”
He added, “Gerimis Baiduri’s vision is to raise industry standards and become the leader in refrigerated trucking and logistics through efficiency, reliability and innovation. Our existing UD Trucks fleet has been helping us grow our business and gained customers’ trust in the journey towards achieving this vision. Thus, we decided to expand our UD fleet with New Kuzer for its high payload, engine performance with cleaner emission and overall proven reliability. Furthermore, the good aftersales support and consultation we have been receiving from LK Utara and TCIE throughout the years have made our decision to stay with them an easy one.”
“We trust this is a good investment and we look forward for the New Kuzer to deliver better fuel savings and increase the productivity of our logistics operations through greater uptime,” he added.
UD Trucks Kuzer: Designed for Urban Logistics
Launched in Malaysia just months ago, the latest UD Trucks Kuzer is positioned as a productivity-focused light-duty truck tailored for urban and regional delivery work.
It is available in 7.5-tonne and 8.5-tonne Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) variants. The 7.5-tonne version offers a payload of 4,880 kg, which UD Trucks says is more than 600 kg higher than its predecessor. The increased payload capacity allows operators to move more goods per trip, helping to improve delivery efficiency and reduce long-term operating costs.

Power comes from a 5.2-litre Euro 4 engine paired with an advanced fuel injection system and a six-speed overdrive gearbox, designed to balance performance with improved emissions compliance.
According to UD Trucks, the New Kuzer was developed around six key areas: payload, performance, chassis strength, emissions, durability and safety.
Safety and Driver-Focused Features
The New Kuzer comes equipped with a range of safety systems typically associated with larger commercial vehicles. These include:
- SRS airbag
- Anti-Slip Regulator (ASR)
- Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
- Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
- Cab tilt warning
- Reverse alarm
The cabin is certified to ECE R29 standards, a United Nations regulation covering the strength and safety of commercial vehicle cabins. LED headlamps are also fitted to improve night-time visibility.

Support and Warranty Coverage
Loh Thim Choy, Chief Operating Officer of TCIE said, “New Kuzer was developed as part of UD Trucks’ commitment towards smart logistics and in meeting the growing need for reliable trucks. It is an efficient model especially for urban deliveries, helping our customers be nimble players in their fields. The advanced safety features and engine emission standards contribute to better durability, performance and cleaner environment, all of which Gerimis Baiduri and other customers will surely stand to gain from.”
“We are honored to continue to bring value to Gerimis Baiduri, who will be able to achieve greater impact from every delivery with New Kuzer. Our team is always ready to extend full support through the UD Extra Mile Services package which include benefits such as genuine parts, fixed-price maintenance plans with priority scheduling, 24/7 Res-Q roadside assistance and quality service for sustained uptime,” he added.
Customers of the UD Trucks New Kuzer in Malaysia are covered by a five-year or 300,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
Growing Demand for Efficient Cold Chain Transport
With Malaysia’s food, pharmaceutical and retail sectors increasingly reliant on temperature-controlled logistics, fleet efficiency and uptime are becoming critical. Higher payload capacity, improved fuel efficiency and strong aftersales support are key decision factors for operators like Gerimis Baiduri as they scale their operations.
The addition of the New Kuzer units signals continued investment in modernising Malaysia’s cold chain transport infrastructure, particularly for urban and regional distribution.

In cold chain logistics, every extra kilo and every extra hour of uptime counts — and that’s exactly where trucks like the Kuzer quietly earn their keep.
