Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Names Martin Schulz as CEO & Regional Head for Southeast Asia

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has announced a leadership transition for its Southeast Asia operations. Effective 1 February 2026, Martin Schulz has taken over as CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia and Head of the newly integrated Southeast Asia Region, which includes Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

He succeeds Amanda Zhang, who will remain on the Board of Directors and serve as a Senior Adviser to the company.

During her 20+ year career at Mercedes-Benz, Zhang led several key initiatives in Southeast Asia, including the launch of Southeast Asia’s first Retail of the Future Agency Model and the region’s first luxury flagship retail format, Stars@Mercedes-Benz Bangsar. She also expanded the EV charging ecosystem, broadened Mercedes-Benz’s product portfolio, and reinforced regional go-to-market strategies. Zhang’s efforts positioned the business for sustained growth and accelerated electrification.

“It has been a privilege to lead Mercedes-Benz Malaysia and Singapore, and I am immensely proud of what our team has achieved. I warmly welcome Martin Schulz and have full confidence in his leadership as he takes the organisation into its next phase of growth. I look forward to supporting a smooth transition,” said Amanda Zhang, Senior Adviser, Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia.

Martin Schulz brings extensive international experience, including CEO roles in the United Arab Emirates and Romania, as well as over a decade in senior management across Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea. He most recently served in Sales & Marketing functions at Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.

“I am thrilled to return to Asia and join the teams in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia. This is a period of immense opportunities for Mercedes-Benz, and I am committed to working closely with colleagues and retail partners to deliver exceptional customer experiences and reinforce our leadership in luxury mobility,” said Schulz.
