Perodua is using the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026) to showcase more than just another concept car. The new C2 concept represents the company’s latest thinking on electrified mobility, introducing a fresh design language, AI-assisted technologies and a connected ownership ecosystem that could shape future Perodua EVs.
Described as ‘Chapter 2’ in Perodua’s EV journey, the C2 is developed by the national carmaker’s younger generation of designers and reflects their vision of what future electric vehicles could look and feel like. The B-segment concept also marks a clear departure from the earlier EM-O concept, signalling an evolution in Perodua’s design direction.
Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the C2 expands the company’s EV narrative while reinforcing its ambition of creating products designed by Malaysians for global audiences. “The C2 is part of our ongoing EV storyline. It expands our narrative of made by Malaysians for the world as we improve the future of mobility experience for our customers,” he said.

A More Connected Approach To Mobility
While the exterior design attracts attention, Perodua’s broader focus appears to be on connectivity and digital integration.
The C2 incorporates AI driving assist functions including real-time navigation, charging station location services, traffic updates, enhanced anti-theft features and assisted parking technologies.
Perodua has also integrated its P-Circle super app into the concept, allowing access to services such as a secure e-wallet platform and priority genuine parts delivery.
Taken together, the features suggest Perodua is envisioning future EV ownership as part of a wider digital ecosystem rather than simply focusing on the vehicle itself.

Previewing Perodua’s Future EV Thinking
According to Perodua, the C2 will serve as the basis for its future EV development, with visitor feedback at KLIMS 2026 expected to help shape future products.
The concept therefore functions as more than a design study. It offers insight into how Perodua sees the future of mobility, combining electrification, software integration and connected services into a single platform.
Alongside the C2, visitors to the Perodua booth can also experience interactive robots, drones and demonstrations of the P-Circle ecosystem.

CarTok Editor’s Note
Putting an ecosystem around a car is no longer unusual as software-defined vehicles become increasingly common. What makes the C2 noteworthy is that it shows Perodua understands where the industry is heading. As EV technology becomes more accessible and increasingly similar across brands, the battle for customers may ultimately be won through services, convenience and ownership experience rather than outright hardware specifications.
