Perodua Cuts Axia Prices By Up To RM4,700, Entry Variant Now RM33,900

Perodua has announced a significant price reduction for the Axia, with prices lowered by up to RM4,700 effective immediately, making Malaysia’s most affordable car even more accessible to buyers.
The revised pricing follows improvements in the company’s operational efficiency, allowing the national carmaker to pass cost savings directly to customers without compromising the vehicle’s specifications or quality.
For customers in Peninsular Malaysia, the biggest reduction applies to the Axia 1.0G, which now starts from RM33,900, down from RM38,600. Prices for the higher variants have also been revised, although by smaller amounts.

Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the latest revision is intended to help ease the financial burden faced by Malaysians.
“This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians.”
He added that the lower pricing reflects continuous improvements in operational effectiveness, similar to the company’s recent reduction in servicing costs as well as the revised pricing introduced for the Perodua QV-E and its Battery as a Service (BaaS) programme.
No Changes To Specifications
Perodua stressed that the Axia remains unchanged in terms of specifications, equipment and build quality. Instead, the lower prices are the result of process improvements and efficiency gains achieved throughout its operations.
According to the company, the cost savings were made possible through close collaboration with its local suppliers and dealer network.
Dato’ Sri Zainal thanked Perodua’s vendors and dealers for supporting initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiency, allowing the benefits to be shared across the wider automotive ecosystem and ultimately with Malaysian consumers.

Still Malaysia’s Most Affordable New Car
The Axia continues to be positioned as Malaysia’s most affordable new passenger car and remains one of the country’s best-selling compact hatchbacks. The latest pricing is expected to further strengthen its appeal among first-time buyers, young families and those seeking an economical daily commuter.
Customers can visit any authorised Perodua showroom nationwide for more information on the revised pricing and available financing packages.

CarTok Editor’s Note
Perodua’s decision to lower the Axia’s price is significant, particularly in a model that has fine profit margins. While discounts are common in the automotive industry, permanent list price reductions are relatively rare, especially for one that consistently ranks as a bestseller in Malaysia.
This move suggests that Perodua is confident its manufacturing efficiencies and supplier collaboration are at a point where savings can be sustainably passed on to consumers instead of being retained as higher margins. It also reinforces the company’s strategy of making vehicle ownership more affordable amid rising living costs.
The timing is noteworthy. Coming shortly after Perodua reduced the pricing of the QV-E electric vehicle and its Battery as a Service (BaaS) programme, the company is demonstrating that operational improvements can benefit buyers across both its conventional and electrified vehicle line-up.
For first-time car buyers, young families and those looking for an economical city car, the Axia’s easy entry price further strengthens its value proposition. It also puts additional pressure on competitors in the A-segment, where affordability remains the primary purchasing factor.
