Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has unveiled the Hyundai Stargazer at the ongoing Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2026. Pending its official launch, Hyundai is now official taking orders for the Stargazer.
Positioned as a practical family-focused multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Stargazer expands Hyundai’s local line-up into what the company describes as the “WEhicle” segment, placing emphasis on the needs of families and passengers rather than simply the vehicle itself.
The preview comes as Hyundai continues to broaden its Malaysian portfolio following its establishment as a direct subsidiary in the country, adding a people mover to a range that now spans conventional vehicles, electric vehicles and performance models.

Family-Focused Mobility
According to Hyundai Motor Malaysia Managing Director Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, the Stargazer was designed with family usage at its core.
She said the company views the vehicle as a “WEhicle”, where the focus is on the people inside and around the vehicle, with safety, convenience and technology developed to support modern family lifestyles.

Practical Cabin With Three Rows
Inside, the Stargazer features a three-row cabin designed to maximise passenger comfort and practicality. Seating layout will depend on variant chosen. The Stargazer Style and Stargazer Prime are 7-seaters, while the Stargazer X is a 6-seater.
Highlights inside include a digital display measuring up to 10.25 inches, wireless smartphone charging and integrated seat-back tables for rear passengers. Hyundai says the cabin has been designed to function as a versatile family space for daily commuting, long-distance travel and weekend outings.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre Smartstream petrol engine paired with Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) utilising a high-efficiency chain belt. This engine produces 115PS and 144NM of torque.
Safety equipment includes the Hyundai SmartSense advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite, featuring technologies such as Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

Styled-up Stargazer X
At the top of the range is the Stargazer X which is the more rugged-looking variant featuring SUV-inspired styling elements.
The Stargazer X receives sportier front and rear bumpers, a rear spoiler, overfenders and blacked-out exterior badging, as well as roof rails to give it a more adventurous appearance compared to the regular MPV body style.
It also gets a 6-seat configuration with captain seats (leatherette) in the middle row, a floating centre console, and shift-by-wire transmission control.
Estimated Pricing
The STARGAZER is being offered in three variants with estimated pricing as follows:
- STARGAZER Style 7-seater – RM99,XXX
- STARGAZER Prime 7-seater – RM109,XXX
- STARGAZER X 6-seater – RM121,XXX

Hyundai will also back the Stargazer with an eight-year or 160,000km vehicle warranty. Available colour options are Titan Gray Metallic, Creamy White Pearl, Midnight Black Pearl, and Gravity Gold Matte.
Bookings are now open, while public test drives at KLIMS 2026 begin on 16 June.
With a booking fee of RM88, the first 800 customers can enjoy 8-year (or 160,000km) warranty, 8 times (or 4 years) free service, and for existing Hyundai owners, a RM1,000 All-Star Reward.
The Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2026 runs from 11 to 21 June at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
CarTok Editor’s Note
The Stargazer arrives in a segment that has long been dominated by value-focused contenders. Hyundai’s challenge is not convincing Malaysians that they need a practical seven-seater but that they should look for a more premium cabin experience. The eight-year warranty early bird package is also used to draw in those who seek long-term value. If Hyundai can deliver competitive real-world value alongside those features, the Stargazer could become one of the more dominant family MPVs in the sub-RM130,000 space.
