MATEC 2026 Returns With Bigger Focus On Bumiputera Automotive Businesses, TVET And EVs

The MARA Automotive Ecosystem (MATEC) will return this November with a broader focus on strengthening Bumiputera participation in Malaysia’s automotive industry, bringing together vehicle brands, entrepreneurs, suppliers, TVET talent, financial institutions and technology players.
Using the theme “Drive The Future”, MATEC 2026 will take place from 27 to 29 November at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, (10am to 10pm).
MARA said the 2026 edition is built around three key aspirations – Future Automotive, TVET Excellence and Electric Mobility – with the event designed to create opportunities for Bumiputera businesses to move into higher value-added areas of the automotive value chain.
The event is expected to involve more than 500 entrepreneurs, either as exhibitors or business-to-business partners, with a target of 300,000 visitors over three days. The previous MATEC 2025 recorded a crowd of 105,000 visitors.
100 Exhibitors Of Cars, Motorcycles And Automotive Technology
MATEC 2026 will feature around 100 exhibitors, including vehicle brands such as Daihatsu, Perodua, Ducati, BYD and Honda, alongside automotive entrepreneurs, parts and accessories suppliers, technology companies and government agencies.
The autoshow will also include brands such as Proton, Perodua, BYD, Kia, Chery, MG and GWM, while the motorcycle section will feature brands including Modenas, Suzuki, Mforce, GT Max, GGR, Honda and Yamaha.

Banking and support organisations including Bank Islam, CIMB, TIJARI and RHB, as well as agencies such as PUNB, MARii and SME Corp, will also be represented.
The programme is intended to go beyond product displays, with business matching, sales activities, pocket talks, seminars and networking opportunities forming part of the event.
EVs, Smart Mobility And TVET Take A Bigger Role
Technology will be one of the main pillars of MATEC 2026, with EV exhibitions, smart mobility and automotive applications of artificial intelligence included in the programme.
MARA said the event will also provide opportunities for TVET talent through career open interviews and skills competitions, while green mobility zones and circular economy exhibitions will highlight areas linked to sustainable industry development.
MARA’s educational institutions will also participate, reflecting the organisation’s wider role in automotive-related TVET education, from GIATMARA to UniKL.
From Business Matching To Modified Cars And Motorsports
For the wider motoring community, MATEC 2026 will retain plenty of enthusiast-focused content.
The programme includes custom car shows, local car club gatherings, RXZ Members Club and XMAX gatherings, as well as two-wheel gatherings involving Ducati, Kawasaki and Y15 groups.
Visitors can also expect a KLRC event, CRCD and Mini 4WD competitions, Pit Stop contests, a MATEC Fun Run and remote-control activities.

Other attractions include campervan and motorhome gatherings, modified cars, drift performances, diecast exhibitions, Tamiya Mini 4WD, RC play, racing simulators and an e-sports zone.

MATEC To Build On 2025 Results
The expansion comes after MATEC 2025 recorded 105,000 visitors, generated a reported RM30 million in sales value and delivered 400 business-matching sessions.
The 2025 event, held at the same Bukit Jalil venue, also featured vehicle exhibitions, product and service displays, food and beverage activities and business networking.
For 2026, MARA has set the bar higher, expecting 300,000 visitors. As a a government agency, MARA has assisted 534 entrepreneurs, enabling 2,403 job opportunities and recorded business value of RM690 million. It aims to use MATEC 2026 as a platform to scale up Bumiputera businesses in the automotive industry.

CarTok Editor’s Note
MARA is using MATEC 2026 as more than an automotive exhibition.
The presence of major vehicle brands and automotive suppliers will bring the consumer-facing element, but the goal is to connect Bumiputera entrepreneurs with manufacturers, financial institutions, government agencies, TVET talent and newer areas such as EVs and smart mobility.
MATEC’s challenge will be turning three days of networking and exposure into longer-term commercial opportunities for the entrepreneurs it is designed to support.
But for visitors, there should be plenty to see – from new vehicles and motorcycles to modified cars, motorsports, technology, food and entertainment.
MATEC 2026 will be held from 27 to 29 November 2026 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, from 10am to 10pm. Admission is free.
