JETOUR G700 Heads Into The Wild With Explorer Ed Stafford

The JETOUR G700 is leaving the motor show floor and heading into the wild, with renowned explorer and survivalist Ed Stafford putting the SUV through some of the world’s toughest environments.
Following its preview at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, the G700 will feature in Season 2 of Discovery’s Adventure of Extremes, where it will accompany Stafford across remote wilderness, rugged mountains and volcanic landscapes spanning three continents.

Who is Ed Stafford? He is known as the “Modern Robinson Crusoe”, and is recognised internationally for his extreme survival challenges. He was the first person to walk the entire length of the Amazon River.
In Adventure of Extremes Season 2, the G700 serves as Stafford’s mobile exploration base as he takes on demanding environments in Ecuador, Colombia, Morocco and Iceland.
The same locations feature in Marooned with Ed Stafford: Chapter of Fire, where Stafford undertakes solo survival challenges without food, tools or a camera crew.
The collaboration follows the success of Marooned with Ed Stafford: Chapter of Water, which accumulated 360 million global impressions in 2025 and won the Gold Award in the Reality Series category at the 2025 Telly Awards.
For JETOUR, this partnership offers a very different setting to demonstrate the G700.
Rather than limiting the SUV to conventional driving demonstrations, Adventure of Extremes places it alongside Stafford in unpredictable natural environments, with the vehicle supporting his exploration across a variety of demanding terrain and conditions.

The collaboration also ties into JETOUR’s “Travel+” strategy and its “Beyond the Horizon” philosophy, which focus on exploration, travel and going beyond familiar boundaries.
The large G700 SUV was previewed in Malaysia at KLIMS 2026, to showcase the brand’s Travel+ proposition in the market.
Short episodes of Adventure of Extremes Season 2 began rolling out in August 2026, with new episodes getting released progressively.
The G700 runs with a dual motor plug-in hybrid with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission which produce a combined output of 904PS and 1,135Nm of torque. It is capable of a 0-100km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds, and supports 800V fast charging.
CarTok Editor’s Note
The G700 being featured alongside an extreme survivalist like Ed Stafford gives JETOUR a more novel way to demonstrate what its SUV can do.
There is a difference between showing an SUV climbing an artificial obstacle course and putting it into remote wilderness where the environment is considerably less cooperative.
For JETOUR, this is an opportunity to associate the G700 with exploration and adventure – a natural fit with the brand’s Travel+ mantra.
Whether the G700 eventually becomes part of JETOUR Malaysia’s line-up will depend on the potential demand for a vehicle of its size and positioning.
Likewise, the effectiveness of the Travel+ strategy in Malaysia will depend on how compelling the activities and experiences are to the people JETOUR wants to bring into its ecosystem.
