As part of the campaign, customers who test-drive any Chery plug-in hybrid model this month will stand a chance to win a RM100 Touch ‘n Go eWallet reload PIN.

Electrification Takes Centre Stage

While the promotions celebrate the brand’s third year in Malaysia, they also highlight Chery’s ongoing shift towards electrified mobility.

A key component of that strategy is Chery Super Hybrid (CSH), the company’s proprietary plug-in hybrid technology that combines a combustion engine and electric drive system with intelligent energy management.

The technology currently underpins the TIGGO 7 PHEV and TIGGO 8 PHEV, both of which form part of Chery’s growing electrified portfolio in Malaysia.

To address concerns around long-term ownership, Chery is also offering an extended battery warranty of up to 10 years or 200,000 km on its PHEV models.

From Re-Entry To Multi-Energy Mobility Brand

Chery’s return to Malaysia in 2023 initially focused on conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) SUVs as the brand worked to rebuild its presence in the market.

The following year saw a broader SUV line-up and rapid expansion of its dealership network, helping the Chinese automaker strengthen its position among Malaysian buyers.

More recently, Chery has accelerated its electrification plans through the introduction of PHEV models and wider deployment of CSH technology. The move reflects the company’s ambition to evolve from a traditional ICE manufacturer into a multi-energy mobility provider capable of offering both conventional and electrified powertrain solutions.

Customers can visit Chery showrooms nationwide to test-drive the brand’s latest models and take advantage of the anniversary promotions.

CarTok Editor’s Note

Three years may seem like a short time, but Chery has used it well. In that period, the brand has gone from rebuilding awareness to assembling one of Malaysia’s broader SUV line-ups while steadily expanding into electrified mobility. Promotions may help bring customers into showrooms, but sustained growth will depend on whether Chery can continue proving that its products deliver the practicality, value and ownership experience Malaysian buyers expect.
