Electric motorcycle brand Blueshark Malaysia has strengthened its partnership with PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia (PLMMSB) through a new collaboration aimed at expanding aftersales access and service support for electric two-wheelers across Malaysia.
Formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the collaboration will begin with five selected PETRONAS MotoExpert outlets nationwide supporting aftersales services for Blueshark and SoloEra electric motorcycles, with additional locations expected to be added in phases.
The initiative reflects broader efforts by both parties to support Malaysia’s growing electric mobility ecosystem while improving ownership convenience and accessibility for EV motorcycle users.

Five PETRONAS MotoExpert Locations Selected For First Phase
The first batch of participating PETRONAS MotoExpert outlets were selected based on operational readiness and location coverage. The initial locations are:
- PETRONAS MotoExpert Taman Sri Gombak – Fast Garage (Gombak)
- PETRONAS MotoExpert Taman Bukit Mewah – Dania Garage (Kajang)
- PETRONAS MotoExpert LDP Subang – Tokan Tayar (Subang Jaya)
- PETRONAS MotoExpert Autoville Cyberjaya – Get Geared Bikers (Cyberjaya)
- PETRONAS MotoExpert Kota Damansara – Triple A Garage (Kota Damansara)
Under the collaboration, both companies will also explore joint marketing campaigns, customer engagement activities, roadshows, as well as the development of new sales and service touchpoints for both individual users and fleet operators.
According to the companies, the partnership combines Blueshark’s expertise in electric mobility with PETRONAS’ nationwide retail and service ecosystem to improve ownership confidence and encourage wider adoption of electric motorcycles.
Expanding Beyond Retail Presence
Since joining the broader PETRONAS Dagangan ecosystem, Blueshark has been steadily expanding its presence across several segments including retail, fleet operations, digital services, and charging infrastructure.
PLMMSB Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mohd Zameer Zahur Hussain said, “Our collaboration with Blueshark Malaysia reflects a shared commitment to deliver greater convenience, reliable service support and added value to customers. Through PETRONAS MotoExpert, riders will benefit from improved access to quality service as mobility needs evolve. Together, we aim to provide customers with dependable support and peace of mind while reinforcing our commitment to making everyday life simpler and better.”
Blueshark Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jeff Chong said, “This collaboration with PLMMSB is an important milestone in expanding practical 2W-EV ownership in Malaysia. By integrating with trusted PETRONAS MotoExpert locations, we can improve service accessibility, strengthen ownership confidence and support wider adoption, delivering meaningful value to both individual riders and fleet customers.”

Building A Broader EV Motorcycle Ecosystem
The latest collaboration also builds on Blueshark Malaysia’s recent efforts to reduce barriers to EV motorcycle adoption in Malaysia.
Earlier this month, the company announced its ReCycle Trade-in Programme in collaboration with iMotorbike Malaysia, allowing owners of petrol-powered and older electric motorcycles to trade in their existing bikes for new Blueshark and SoloEra models through a streamlined valuation process.
Taken together, the initiatives suggest Blueshark is focusing not just on selling electric motorcycles, but on addressing the wider ownership ecosystem — including servicing access, resale concerns, operational support, and long-term usability for both individual riders and commercial fleet operators.
Electric two-wheelers are increasingly being positioned as a practical urban mobility solution, particularly for delivery fleets and daily commuters seeking lower running costs and reduced emissions. However, concerns surrounding aftersales support, servicing accessibility, and long-term ownership confidence continue to remain among the biggest hurdles for wider EV motorcycle adoption in Malaysia.
By leveraging PETRONAS’ existing MotoExpert network, Blueshark gains access to a nationwide service ecosystem that could help improve confidence among prospective buyers beyond major urban centres.

CarTok Editor’s Note
The EV conversation in Malaysia often revolves around cars, charging stations, and tax incentives. Meanwhile, motorcycles, possibly the country’s most widely used form of daily transport, quietly sit in the background despite having far greater potential to influence everyday urban emissions and mobility costs.
That is why collaborations like this are crucial. In Blueshark’s case, there appears to be a clear understanding that EV adoption goes beyond the product itself. Malaysians do not simply buy vehicles; they buy into confidence, convenience, and ecosystem support. Recent initiatives involving PETRONAS, battery-swapping infrastructure, and the iMotorbike trade-in programme point toward a more practical long-term strategy focused on reducing ownership friction rather than relying solely on novelty or technology appeal.
The real challenge now is execution consistency. Attractive technology and lower operating costs may generate early interest, but they can only take a brand so far. Long-term reliability, workshop competency, parts availability, and dependable aftersales support will ultimately determine whether electric motorcycles can move beyond niche adoption and become genuinely mainstream in Malaysia.
