PUSPAKOM has launched GiCheck Lindung-i, a new digital insurance platform that allows motorists to compare and purchase motor insurance online.
The launch marks the company’s latest expansion beyond vehicle inspections as it continues building a broader digital ecosystem for vehicle ownership services.

Integrated into the existing GiCheck platform, the new service allows users to purchase insurance for private cars and motorcycles, including comprehensive and third-party coverage options.
According to PUSPAKOM, the platform is designed to simplify the process of preparing vehicles for road use by combining inspection-related services and insurance access into a single digital experience.
Users can compare quotations, select additional coverage options and receive digital policy issuance in real time through FPX payments via SenangPay. The platform currently launches with Zurich General Takaful as its insurance partner, while additional providers are expected to be added progressively.
PUSPAKOM Chief Executive Officer Mahmood Razak Bahman said the company is positioning itself beyond its traditional role as a vehicle inspection operator. “GiCheck Lindung-i reflects our on-going commitment to enhance the customer journey by integrating essential vehicle-related services into a seamless digital platform,” he said.
“We are no longer just an inspection point, but a partner throughout the vehicle ownership journey.”

The company also plans to expand the platform further with additional protection products including travel insurance, home and fire insurance, as well as personal accident coverage.
PUSPAKOM added that a road tax renewal feature is also planned for future integration, subject to approval from Road Transport Department Malaysia.
In conjunction with the launch, the first 100 customers who purchase insurance through GiCheck Lindung-i will receive a complimentary Hot Wheels Monster Trucks die-cast collectible as part of a collaboration with Mattel and Hot Wheels.
The platform is now accessible nationwide through GiCheck Lindung-i.

CarTok Editor’s Note
For private passenger car owners in Malaysia, vehicle inspections are still largely event-based rather than part of routine yearly ownership. Most motorists only deal with PUSPAKOM during ownership transfers, special approvals or when resolving documentation-related issues.
That makes GiCheck Lindung-i an interesting strategic move because it shifts PUSPAKOM closer to a service Malaysians interact with every year — insurance renewal — instead of one they may only use occasionally during a vehicle sale or transfer.
From a business perspective, this potentially keeps PUSPAKOM connected to motorists beyond inspection appointments alone. From a consumer perspective, the practical benefit is convenience. Instead of waiting until ownership transfer day to engage with the platform, users could eventually manage insurance, road tax and related vehicle services within a single ecosystem throughout the ownership cycle.
Many drivers still renew policies based purely on price or habit without reviewing agreed vehicle values, optional flood coverage, windscreen protection or excess clauses. As repair costs and replacement parts become more expensive, understanding coverage details matters far more today than it did several years ago.
The long-term success of GiCheck Lindung-i will likely depend less on whether Malaysians want another insurance portal, and more on whether PUSPAKOM can turn a traditionally transactional inspection brand into a genuinely useful ownership platform people return to annually rather than only during vehicle transfers.
