BMW Group Malaysia has expanded its premium SUV portfolio with the introduction of the new BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport, while also confirming the official retail price of the all-electric BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport.
The two additions strengthen BMW’s Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) line-up in Malaysia, offering customers a wider choice between petrol and fully electric models.
According to BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director Benjamin Nagel, SAVs remain a key pillar of the brand’s portfolio locally, with the fourth-generation BMW X3 emerging as one of the company’s strongest-performing BMW X models since its launch last year.
New X3 Gains More Power And Equipment
Positioned above the BMW X3 20 xDrive M Sport introduced in 2025, the new BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport receives a more powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with 48V mild-hybrid technology.
The powertrain produces 258hp and 400Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 240 km/h. Power is delivered through an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

Beyond the performance increase, the X3 30 xDrive M Sport also receives several upgrades over the existing X3 20 variant. These include Adaptive LED headlights with BMW Selective Beam, 20-inch M light alloy wheels, M Sport brakes, a panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon surround sound system, active front-seat ventilation and lumbar support.
Inside, the SUV features BMW’s Curved Display setup, combining a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.9-inch central touchscreen running BMW Operating System 9. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and a wireless charging tray are also included.

Safety equipment includes Driving Assistant Plus with Active Cruise Control, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Front Collision Warning and Lane Change Warning. Parking Assistant Plus with Surround View, Remote 3D View and BMW Drive Recorder is also fitted as standard.
Customers can choose from Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Dune Grey and Tanzanite Blue exterior finishes.

The long-wheelbase version of the iX1 features a wheelbase extended by 110mm and an overall length increased by 116mm compared to the standard model. According to BMW, the changes provide an additional 81mm of rear legroom and 107mm of rear kneeroom.

The fully electric SUV offers a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 433km while retaining the practicality and compact dimensions that have made the iX1 one of BMW’s most accessible EVs.

CarTok Editor’s Note
Bigger has traditionally been better in the premium SUV world, but not everyone wants a larger vehicle sitting in their driveway. Urban buyers still value easy manoeuvrability and a smaller footprint, yet few are willing to compromise on rear-seat comfort simply because they chose the cheaper or smaller model. The iX1 eDrive20L is BMW’s answer to that dilemma, stretching the cabin without significantly increasing the ownership burden that comes with moving up to an X3. Meanwhile, the X3 30 xDrive M Sport reminds us that there remains a healthy market for buyers who still appreciate a strong petrol engine. Different products, different priorities—but both are responding to a customer who wants something specific from a premium SUV.
