KLIMS 2026 Offers Malaysians One Last Look At Today’s EV Prices Before New CBU Policy Takes Effect

The Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026 returns to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 12 to 21 June (next week), arriving at a significant moment for Malaysia’s automotive industry as new policies affecting imported electric vehicles (EVs) are set to take effect next month.
With the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry’s (MITI) revised policy on completely built-up (CBU) EVs scheduled to begin on 1 July 2026, KLIMS 2026 may represent one of the final opportunities for consumers to explore and secure selected EV models before potential price adjustments come into effect.

More Than Just An Auto Show
KLIMS 2026 will bring together a broad range of automotive brands, mobility solutions and emerging technologies under one roof. Visitors will have the opportunity to compare vehicles from multiple manufacturers, learn about the latest EV developments and gain insights into ownership, charging infrastructure and the future of sustainable mobility.
Industry experts and EV technology providers will also be present throughout the event to help consumers better understand the practical aspects of transitioning to electric mobility.
Over 60 Vehicles Available For Test Drives
One of the major highlights of this year’s show is the extensive test-drive programme, with more than 60 vehicles available for visitors to experience firsthand.
This allows potential buyers to evaluate multiple models across different brands in a single venue, making KLIMS 2026 one of the largest vehicle test-drive events in the country.
Participating brands are also expected to offer exclusive promotions, special financing packages, booking incentives and limited-time deals throughout the exhibition period.

CarTok Editor’s Note
The significance of KLIMS 2026 extends beyond the cars on display. With Malaysia’s EV market entering a new phase as policy incentives evolve, the show offers a rare opportunity for consumers to compare dozens of models side-by-side before the next chapter of EV pricing begins.
