The Zeekr 009 is moving into a rather different kind of transport duty, with the luxury electric MPV now forming part of the VIP passenger experience at SkyPark Business Aviation Centre (SBAC).
Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia and SkyPark FBO Malaysia Sdn Bhd (SFBO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the passenger experience at SBAC, with the Zeekr 009 being used for airside transfers between the facility and aircraft.
The partnership puts the Zeekr 009 in an environment where privacy, comfort, efficiency and personalised service are particularly important, serving VIP travellers, private jet owners and charter flight passengers.
Rather than simply being a premium vehicle waiting outside the terminal, the 009 will form part of the passenger journey as travellers move from the SBAC lounge to their aircraft.
Flagship Role For The Zeekr 009
The arrangement gives Zeekr Malaysia an opportunity to demonstrate the 009 in a setting that closely matches its positioning as a flagship luxury MPV.
The vehicle’s passenger-focused cabin is designed around executive travel, with Sofaro first-class airline seats finished in Soft Nappa Leather, including ventilation and massage functions.
Passengers also get a spacious cabin and a 17-inch 3K OLED roof screen, while Zeekr’s Intelligent Magic Carpet system and dual-chamber air suspension are intended to provide a smoother and more composed ride.
For an airside transfer, where the journey may be relatively short, these features are less about getting from A to B quickly and more about maintaining the premium experience between the lounge and the aircraft.
That is also where the 009’s MPV configuration makes sense. Instead of the conventional luxury sedan approach, it provides a more spacious environment where passengers can relax or continue working during the transfer.
Bringing The Lounge Experience To The Vehicle
Eddy Lu, General Manager of Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia, said the Zeekr 009 was created for people who spend considerable time travelling and expect comfort, connectivity and convenience.
He described the collaboration with SFBO as a way of bringing together two premium environments and creating a more seamless passenger experience.
For SkyPark FBO Malaysia, the vehicle effectively extends its service beyond the lounge.
Hariss Abdullah, Senior General Manager of SkyPark FBO Malaysia Sdn Bhd, said the company’s focus is on providing Business Aviation and General Aviation passengers with an efficient, personalised and comfortable journey from arrival through to boarding.
The Zeekr 009 allows that experience to continue during the final transfer to the aircraft.
Zeekr’s Push Beyond The Conventional Showroom
The collaboration is also notable from Zeekr Malaysia’s perspective.
Since establishing its Malaysian presence in December 2024, the brand has been expanding its positioning around premium electric mobility rather than limiting its vehicles to conventional automotive applications.
Putting the Zeekr 009 into a business aviation environment at Subang SkyPark gives potential customers and business travellers a chance to experience the vehicle in a setting that naturally reinforces its executive positioning.
It also demonstrates where luxury MPVs can sit within the wider mobility ecosystem.
For passengers accustomed to premium lounges, private aviation and personalised ground services, the expectation does not necessarily stop at the aircraft door. The vehicle used for the final few hundred metres can be part of that experience too.
And in this case, Zeekr is betting that the 009’s first-class cabin can make an airside transfer feel like part of the journey rather than just a ride to the plane.
