Honda Malaysia has launched the refreshed Honda City, bringing more safety technology, a larger infotainment screen and updated styling to its popular B-segment sedan.
Priced from RM89,900 without insurance, the new City continues to offer petrol and hybrid powertrains, with the range topped by the City 1.5L e:HEV RS at RM111,900.
The biggest changes, however, are not under the bonnet.
The New City now gets Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitoring as standard across all variants, while the Petrol RS and e:HEV RS gain a new 360° Multi-View Camera System.
Expanded Standard Features
Honda has expanded the City’s safety equipment with Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitoring across the entire four-variant range.
Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist alert the driver to vehicles detected in adjacent lanes. While Cross Traffic Monitoring is designed to detect approaching vehicles when reversing out of parking spaces.
Honda LaneWatch also remains standard across all variants, while Honda SENSING continues to be offered as standard equipment throughout the range.
For the two RS variants, the new 360° Multi-View Camera provides a more comprehensive view around the car when parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces.
Larger 10-Inch Screen And New Lighting
The refreshed City also gets a new 10-inch Display Audio, giving the cabin a larger screen for connectivity and entertainment.
The e:HEV RS adds a wireless charger for compatible devices.
Honda has also added ambient lighting, footlight and door-pocket illumination to give the cabin a more contemporary feel, particularly at night.
The City’s basic formula remains unchanged, with a spacious cabin and cargo area designed for everyday commuting as well as longer trips.
Refreshed Look
Outside, the City receives a redesigned grille and a refreshed front-end treatment.
RS variants get new Long Light Bar Headlights, while Bi-LED headlights are now standard across all variants.
The updated sedan also gets new 16-inch dual-tone milling alloy wheels.
A new Blazing Red Pearl joins the colour choices, alongside Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and Stellar Diamond Pearl, with the latter available for petrol variants only.
Petrol Or Hybrid
The petrol City continues with a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine and CVT, producing 121PS and 145Nm.
The City e:HEV RS uses Honda’s hybrid system and delivers up to 253Nm of maximum torque.
Honda’s hybrid system manages the petrol engine and electric motors according to driving conditions, combining electric drive with petrol-engine operation.
At the City launch, Honda Malaysia also demonstrated the e:HEV RS’s fuel efficiency in a live closed-circuit run at the launch venue. Running on one litre of petrol, the City e:HEV RS covered 35.0 km, with the display recording 35 km/l at the end of the demonstration.
This result should be viewed as a demonstration rather than a real-world fuel-consumption figure, since it was conducted on a closed circuit under controlled conditions. Nevertheless, it provides a useful illustration of what Honda’s hybrid system is designed to achieve when driven efficiently.
The e:HEV RS also comes with Honda Malaysia’s 10-year hybrid battery warranty with unlimited mileage, subject to the company’s warranty terms and conditions.

This new line-up sees the previous entry-level S variant dropped.
Honda Malaysia is also introducing a Special City Reward Programme for the first 2,400 eligible customers to mark 24 years of the City in Malaysia.
The programme is open to eligible new and existing Honda customers, upgraders and government servants.
Eight-Year Warranty For New Honda Models
The New City also benefits from Honda Malaysia’s expanded warranty programme.
Effective from 1 September 2026, newly purchased Honda petrol and hybrid models, including the New City, are eligible for an extended warranty of up to eight years with unlimited mileage, subject to terms and conditions.
536,000 Honda City Sold In Malaysia
The latest City arrives after 24 years of the nameplate in Malaysia.
Honda Malaysia says more than 536,000 City units have been sold during that period.
The City has also contributed to Honda Malaysia’s hybrid sales, with its hybrid variant accounting for approximately 22% of the company’s total hybrid sales, based on Honda Malaysia’s internal data.

The City is an update rather than a wholesale reinvention, and Honda has concentrated its changes in areas that it deems important to buyers, such as making Blind Spot Monitoring and Cross Traffic Monitoring standard across the range.
With a price band between RM90,000 and RM112,000, the choice is fairly straightforward: buyers can decide how much they want to spend based on their budget and whether the additional equipment and hybrid powertrain justify moving up the range.
After 24 years and more than half a million Malaysian sales, Honda is not trying to reinvent the City. It is updating parts of the ownership experience that it sees as significant.
