PUSPAKOM Reaffirms Integrity, Professional Conduct Following Court Ruling Over Defamatory Livestream

PUSPAKOM has reiterated its commitment to integrity and professional conduct following a Sessions Court ruling on 22 April 2026 in Batu Pahat involving defamatory statements made against one of its vehicle inspectors via a social media livestream.

In a recent statement, the national vehicle inspection company said it respects the Court’s decision, describing it as a clear reminder of the importance of accountability and responsible conduct in public discourse.

The case centred on PUSPAKOM inspector Ahnaf Azfarrizi Ahmad Rizaludin, who had rejected a vehicle that failed to meet required inspection standards. The company commended the officer for upholding his duties with integrity, stressing that its inspection processes are governed by strict protocols to ensure safety, compliance and public confidence.

PUSPAKOM emphasised that these standards will not be compromised, nor will it yield to attempts to bypass established requirements.

At the same time, the organisation made clear that it will act to protect the dignity and professional reputation of its employees. Any allegations that undermine staff integrity, it said, will be addressed seriously through the appropriate channels.

Chief Executive Officer Mahmood Razak Bahman said, “We respect the Court’s ruling and reaffirm our commitment to due process. Our frontliners operate in a demanding environment, guided by strict regulations to ensure safety and compliance for all road users, and we fully support them in carrying out their responsibilities with integrity.”

He added, “The integrity demonstrated by Ahnaf is highly commendable. I commend his firmness in upholding professionalism and ethical conduct in the discharge of his duties. We welcome public feedback as it helps us improve our services and customer experience, provided it is conveyed respectfully and constructively through appropriate avenues. At the same time, we are committed to protecting the professional reputation of PUSPAKOM and our employees, and will act decisively against any form of abusive or defamatory behaviour. Any allegations that undermine their integrity will be taken seriously and addressed through the appropriate processes.”

Mahmood also noted that the case highlights the broader implications of public communication in the digital age.

“This case serves as an important reminder of the need for responsible communication. Statements made publicly, particularly on digital platforms, carry significant consequences and must be grounded in fact and fairness,” he added.

PUSPAKOM said it remains committed to maintaining high standards of service excellence, professionalism and integrity as it continues its role in ensuring the safety and roadworthiness of vehicles in Malaysia.
